Last night was my last ever tasting soirée for Becky and Phil as they have sold their fabulous gîtes business and are moving on 👋

My longest standing clients I have been coming to their place in Montréal Aude since 2009 🍷

So à big thanks to them, their clients and the best of luck for the exciting future 🍾🤩

Hier soir, j’ai animé ma toute dernière soirée dégustation pour Becky et Phil de ; ils ont vendu leur superbe activité de gîtes et s’apprêtent à tourner la page 👋

Ce sont mes clients de la première heure : je viens chez eux, à Montréal (dans l’Aude), depuis 2009 🍷

Yesterday’s Masterclass was on the grape family Pinot 🍇

So we tasted Pinot Blanc from Poland 🇵🇱🤩 a first for us all and utterly delicious. Pinot Gris and Grigio, from Alsace and Slovenia , but the Livio Felluga from Fruilli was outstanding.

Then Pinot Noir from Cava, not a fan usually but this was delicious 😋 a PN rose from the village of Serres by Nicolas Therez

The outstanding red Pinot Noir from a definite favourite. An interesting PN from Central Otago

The weather was horribly hot and humid so we stayed indoors with the fans at full kilt 🥵

La Masterclass d’hier était consacrée à la famille des cépages Pinot 🍇

Nous avons dégusté un Pinot Blanc de Pologne 🇵🇱🤩 : une première pour nous tous et absolument délicieux. Suivi par des Pinot Gris et Grigio, celui de Livio Felluga (Frioul) était exceptionnel.

Ensuite, un Pinot Noir de Cava — je ne suis pas fan d’habitude, mais celui-ci était délicieux 😋 — ainsi qu’un Pinot Noir rosé de Serres Nicolas Therez.

Le Pinot Noir rouge exceptionnel de a été un véritable coup de cœur. Un Pinot Noir intéressant de Central Otago figurait aussi au programme.

Il faisait une chaleur et une humidité écrasantes ; nous sommes donc restés à l’intérieur avec les ventilateurs tournant à plein régime 🥵

Affordable Burgundy Masterclass. Or as one guest said, affordable for Burgundy as these wines arent cheap! 💰

it was far too hot yesterday to be outside for a tasting. Ironically at 37c we were one of the coolest areas in France!🇫🇷

So we started with a Kir Royal on the terrace whilst I explained the intricacies of this oh so complicated Région then moved inside into the cool for the tasting lunch. 🥵

À Masterclass on how to buy intelligently, understanding thé labels ( they are confusing in Burgundy), vintage variations and how it can open up opportunities to buy at a good price, what to age and what to drink up. 🍷

Some really delicious wines for sure but it highlights the excellent value for money our region is in comparison! 🤣

Masterclass sur les vins de Bourgogne « abordables ». Ou, comme l’a fait remarquer un participant : « abordables » pour de la Bourgogne, car ces vins ne sont pas bon marché pour autant ! 💰

Il faisait bien trop chaud hier pour organiser une dégustation en extérieur. Ironie du sort : avec 37 °C, nous étions pourtant l’une des zones les plus « fraîches » de France ! 🇫🇷

Nous avons donc commencé par un Kir Royal en terrasse — le temps pour moi d’expliquer les subtilités de cette région ô combien complexe — avant de passer à l’intérieur, au frais, pour le déjeuner-dégustation. 🥵

Au programme : une masterclass pour apprendre à acheter intelligemment, décrypter les étiquettes (souvent déroutantes en Bourgogne) et comprendre les variations selon les millésimes — ce qui permet de dénicher de bonnes affaires —, tout en sachant quels vins faire vieillir et lesquels boire rapidement. 🍷

Nous avons dégusté des vins vraiment délicieux, certes, mais cela a surtout mis en évidence l’excellent rapport qualité-prix de notre propre région en comparaison ! 🤣

A Lovely evening last night with and their new partners in wine from Ireland set up by the gorgeous actress over with her key wine man and top Irish wine importers Kate Barry from@barryfitzwilliam

Over to bottle and promote their new Ah Rosé, à delicious Cinsault and Grenache Gris blend. 🍷💕

I was asked to introduce the wine region and present their wine, and several others from the Domaines Auriol portfolio over a tasting dinner. 🍷🍾🥗

Not to be a cliché but the Irish are such fun, a craic indeed ! 🤣 Good wine and food and plenty of laughter to be sure 🤩

Superbe soirée hier soir au avec et leurs nouveaux partenaires irlandais, , une initiative de la magnifique actrice accompagnée de son sommelier et de Kate Barry, importatrice de vins irlandais de renom chez .

Au programme : mise en bouteille et promotion de leur nouveau Ah Rosé, un délicieux assemblage de Cinsault et de Grenache Gris. 🍷💕

On m’a demandé de présenter la région viticole et leurs vins, ainsi que plusieurs autres crus du Domaine Auriol, lors d’un dîner dégustation. 🍷🍾🥗

Sans vouloir tomber dans le cliché, les Irlandais sont vraiment très sympathiques et chaleureux ! 🤣 Bon vin, bien mangé et beaucoup de rires garantis ! 🤩

I really have to stop working on Sundays !!😵‍💫
