It was fantastic to be back climbing with Anna yesterday. The day after a big storm, it was atmospheric from start to finish with clouds swirling around us and the Rhone valley far below.

The rock was also immaculate. 🤩

"DO YOU ABSEIL?" was one of the regular questions you might hear when mentioning that you climbed. (This followed soon behind the first response of "do you climb Everest?" of course).

My usual response was "because I have to" in order to reach or descend back down from climbs. Abseiling will rarely be the main event of a climbing day.

Here in Les Callanques this can be different and this incredible route required the most insane free hanging rappels, that it really did feel like a BIG part of the day.

I have some availability in October and November if anyone would like to sample some fantastic climbing above the deep blue ocean?! Just pm or comment to find out more.

With very limited climbing experience I didn't have expectations to climb something like the butterfly arete with Freddy and Hector. But with a couple of gentle rock climbing steps this week it was clear that they'd be alright.

This route had to be one of the best of the easy access Cham classics. The rock is immaculate and the pitches are perfectly formed with maximum exposure and fun moves. Another great day out with these 2 rock warriors.

Via ferratas were created in the Dolomites for troops to get around the mountains during WW1. This means they have a different vibe to the other Vfs I've climbed, rich with history and facilitating large journies through these amazing mountains.

Sumaira and I went for the huge Punta Anna vf climbing almost 1000m to the summit of the 3rd highest summit here, Tofana di Rozes. Epic!
