Fixing our French Farm

I (Mira) got out of bed early this morning in the Netherlands to go to a plant sale. Each plant 2 euro only. Came home with 30 plants. Great buy on echinea, salvia, monarda, coreapsis and achillea. They will look great at the farm.

One the very short drive back from the Salamander bar to our home we encountered seven deer. Managed to capture these three.

Peppers and Lavender...
The 1 year old lavender cuttings to make strong healthy plants.
Peppers are almost ready.

On our way back from the Vide Grenier in Fouquerre we stopped in Tusson to visit Gateaux (thank you Ingrid van Beek for the tip). What a lovely place and delicious cakes...worth a visit more often.

After removing the 40 year old wallpaper from the living room we painted the walls in the colour elephant's breath ( ). Also the doors that we are keeping have had the rough varnish and dark stain changed to a lovely painted finish in RAL9010. The room has undergone a welcome transformation.
We put up our first piece of art purchased from a local artisan in Niort (Ryke Kaya). The canvas has been streched by a local art gallery .
Very pleased with the result so far. Still a work in progress.

When its too hot to go outside and you love tappenades...you make your own. One with olives and sun dried tomatoes and one with olives and walnuts! They taste so good!!

Our farmstead in France is one of the quietest locations we have experienced…except when the Armée de l’Air et de l’Espace are playing with their toys 😆
