Day 17

Today is our last day. As we had our cabin for the whole day and is only a 20-minute drive from Roscoff port, we were able to come and go all day.

Swimming in the morning was cold 🥶 but kids still loved it. There is a fab aqua park which is pretty much a playground in water - Dylan loved it. Leo & Katie loved the slides here, too.

We headed back to our cabin for lunch, basically clearing out our fridge, which wasn't much as we were only here 2 days. Nigel took Leo & Katie to do some shopping and stop off at the nig red bus where we stocked up on wine and cider. Dylan went for a nap (I'm wondering if it will be his last 1 now that we are home 🤔), he definitely needed one has I knew bedtime would be late as our boat doesn't sail out until 11pm.

We left campsite about 6.30pm and headed for dinner. We found a fab steakhouse called Hippopotamus. It was yummy. We were at port for about 8.30pm and started boarding about 9.30pm. We sailed off on time, and it was pretty much smooth sailing.

Everyone slept until 8 a.m., so at least there were only 3 hours to pass before we hit home. We headed for breakfast, and it was the nicest breakfast we had all the holiday. Well done,

Today - Day 18 - we are home. I'll do a list of pro & cons on campsites if anyone would like them? We are also already looking into next year 😅

Day 16

Our last official night tonight on campsite. Although we booked here for 3 nights, we actually won't be staying Friday night as we will leave about 9 pm to board the boat home. This just allows us to have a base for the whole day tomorrow and not be under pressure to check out by 10 am.

Today, we went swimming and let me tell you, these pools are amazing and heated. The Aqua garden is fantastic - we all loved it. The slides were brilliant, one was super fast, which Leo loved, there is a hot tub, indoor splash area, indoor pool, and lazy river.

There is a lovely French restaurant on site, shop - which is VERY reasonably priced, arcade room, pizzeria, incream stand, bar, kids clubs, also have a dedicated kids playroom for 0 - 5 years old AND a cinema. The entertainment is also really good.

It's definitely a fantastic site, and we are most definitely stopping by next year again. It was great to get travelling out of the way and chill for two days before boarding our boat home. We are now only 20 minutes from Roscoff port.

It's nearly home time!!

Day 15

We checked out of Les Brunelles at 10 am this morning. To do so, you are requested to replace all items on the table so the next family coming in can do an 'inventory check', I also needed to bring all sheets and towel to the laundry room, clean (including shower drains, cleaned and left visible), hoover and mop. I believe you have the option of not doing so for a cost per room - totally €160.

I booked our 3rd campsite, only a 20-minute drive from Roscoff. I did this so we could get the travelling out of the way prior to us boarding the boat. I've booked for 3 nights, though we will be only staying two nights as our boat sails out at 11pm Friday night. So this way, we have a base until we need to leave around 9 pm.

Travelling up today felt long, very long 😅 But we got here around 6.30pm. Even more grateful that we didn't have to board a boat after our very long day. So far, campsite looks amazing, though with it been in Brittany, weather may not be on our side. We were back in jeans and hoodies by the evening. Though we don't mind as we are happy to just relax and explore the campsite before making our way home on Friday night

Day 14

Today, we met up with Leo's friends and their families, and we had an absolute ball. We headed for - it's a climbing tree place in St Jean Du Mont. There are a few different levels, and your age depends on how high up you can go.

You can stay here all day, go up and down as many times as you want. There is also a cafe here, so you can take a break, grab a cuppa and something to eat, and set off again, or bring your own picnic. There is an area for under 3's to hang out, too. Trampoline, bouncing castles, climbing frames, archery, and motorised car things. Dylan had great craic hanging out with his friend, too. We stayed here for about 4 hours - we would have definitely passed another hour or two but it is 1hr 15 mins from our campsite and we needed to head back to start packing and clean our cabin as we move campsite tomorrow.

Leo, Katie, and Nigel took to the pool while Dylan and I got things sorted around the cabin.

Day 12

Back to nice weather again, about 21/22', which is perfect for my pale skin 😅

Nigel took Leo & Katie to LeGrand Difi today - they absolutely love it. It's a tree climbing place that has ziplines over the lake. Unfortunately, it's not suitable for Dylan, who has just turned 3. So we are meeting our friends in another one that is more suited for everyone on Tuesday.

While Leo and Katie went there, Dylan and I went to the splash pool. He went straight in and down the big slide, I couldn't believe it. He was thrilled with himself. We hung out with his cousin back in our cabin for a little while after.

The rest got home around 3 pm, and we headed for the beach. I must admit we aren't real beach goers, which is a shame as it can be so nice. Our plan was to have a BBQ in the evening, but the French close everything on a Sunday 😅 So instead the kids got crepes at the beach and just had hotdogs in a roll for supper. Again, poor me couldn't eat out.

We all hung out in our cabin later with a few drinks and games of darts. Oh, and the hot tub.

Day 10

We took a break from the pool today. Nigel unfortunately got an ear infection, so he had to make a doctor's appointment. I must say the system here is amazing. The cost of the doctor was only €31.50 and his prescription (antibiotic drops and paracetamol) was ONLY €7. We can also claim back the cost of his appointment on our European health care cards. No more head under water for him. So that took up our morning.

Katie did try out the kids' club. The kids' clubs here look great. They are also split into smaller age groups, 4 - 6 years, 7 - 10 years, 11 - 13 years, and 14 - 17 years. I think this is brilliant and avoids older kids getting bored.

We actually left the campsite today too 🙌 Leo wanted to buy a few tracksuits in Decathlon, but unfortunately, there wasn't any choice for him. We did, however, pass a place called Up that we were in last year. It has trampolines, bowling, a play centre for kids, a pool table, air hockey, surfing stimulator, and arcade games. Great place to pop into on a rainy day.

Kids got pizza for dinner. It was really good. I just ordered from MS snack bar and bought it home. We have another 4 days here in Camping Les Brunelles before we move campsite for the last time to , where we stay for two nights before heading home.

Day 9

Another roasting hot day, hitting 31' during the day. Due to the heat, we didn't do much. We went to the playground in the morning, wanting to get there before the heat - it was still 22' at 9am. Although the playground is amazing, the only thing I feel it needs, is shade 😎!!

Home for lunch and we hung out here for a little while. We headed for the pool in the evening this time. It was actually a way better as all the slides were open. It was just me that headed over with Leo & Katie. Dylan stayed home with his Dad and hopped into the hot tub.

It was also an early bedtime for kids as the night before was very late.

Day 8 (a little late reporting)

We still haven't left the campsite 🤣 We really are just enjoying ourselves and relaxing this year. Kids are happy out here as there is so much to do.

Kids and I went to the playground for an hour in the morning, there is very little shade there so I wanted to go there before it got too hot. It hit 32' 🥵 today.

We went to the pool around 10.30 am for a few hours. My cousin is here too, so our kids are enjoying hanging out together. Kids spent about 2 hours flying around. There is a really cool slide that only opens at certain times, so Leo & Katie had to brave themselves to go on. They DID, and they loved it.

The only thing I think this campsite is missing is being able to walk off from the poolside and grab a snack/drink/ ice cream, etc. I think you could potentially stay here all day otherwise.

The afternoon was spent hiding away from the sun as it hit 32 degrees. In the afternoon, there was a darts challenge on, so we all headed down there as Nigel, Leo & Katie entered it. They really enjoyed it. Dylan just spent my money in the arcade 🤣

We headed home for the evening, everyone (my cousin and his family and Nigel's sister & her family) called over to ours to play darts (yes we bought the dart board with us 🤣) and had some drinks. We had a lovely (late) night.

Heading into Day 9 today, another 8 days to go 🙌

Day 7

Time to properly explore our campsite. What a campsite it is. We first went to rent Leo a bike for the week and also we rented Dylan a tricycle - as you can see he was a happy boy. Dylan hasn't used his buggy at home for at least 6 months so we didn't bring it with us - regrettably as he won't walk far here 🤣 So the tricycle is a life saver AND only €25 for the week.

The pool is absolutely amazing, it has I think over 10 slides, some you use with inflatable rings, indoor splash pool, which Dylan just loved, wave pool, indoor pool and lazy river. The slides are insane! Leo & Katie had a ball. . There was alsoneater entertainment in the pool through outvthe day.

We stayed in the pool from 10 - 12, we probably would have stayed longer only it got SO hot - hitting 30' today so we came home to avoid the hottest sun though tbh it stayed just as warm into late evening. I somehow managed to get Dylan down for a nap. Thank God for AC!!

Kids and I went to make some Brazilian bracelets at 4pm in the kids club and stopped off in the playground area on the way back. This place was unreal for younger kids - climbing frames, bouncing castles, and trampolines. Dylan would have stayed all day.

Day 6

There's not much to report. We checked out of this morning and headed to the pool for the morning. Today was the hottest day we have had so far.

We had our lunch here, and Dylan played on bouncing castle before we hit the road to head to les brunelles. This place looks absolutely amazing.

We checked in, unloaded the car, and I unpacked while Nigel went and did a shop. Leo, Katie & I went to explore the campsite after dinner (delighted we bought the air fryer with us). The pools here look fantastic. We are looking forward to our first full day here tomorrow.

Day 5

Our last full day in before we head to our next campsite Camping Le Brunelles. We pretty much stayed on site for our whole stay, which was so nice and relaxing.

This morning, we went back to the main pool in the sensation area where all the slides are. It was another dull morning, but it got quite warm in the afternoon. We spent the morning at the pool & headed back to our cabin for lunch.

After lunch, I treated myself to a spa treatment, so I sneaked off for a few hours while kids hung out with their Dad. The pool in the Nature and Sens area is pure zen like with their jets and in water message beds. It was lovely to just chill.

After dinner, we went to the arcade where you'd easily spend a fortune 🤣 Dylan was shattered, so we headed back early, and he was in bed before 8 pm. Leo & Katie came back after their crepes.

Day 4

We stayed on campsite again today. Kids and I went to the playground and visited the lake this morning. Treck downhill was grand, but Dylan decided he most definitely was NOT walking back up. So his big brother took over the job of lifting him home 🥰 We didn't bring a stroller and I think I'm regretting it now 😕

We went to the other pool in nature & sens instead this morning due to weather being quite overcast, so it was a little warmer in their indoor pool. We chilled out at home after lunch for a few hours and hung out with my sister in law and her family.

We headed to the bar for their welcome party, and kids had pizza & crepes, well everyone else did bar me - coeliac me had tea & toast when we got back. I did, however, sneak in two cocktails 🍸 🤣
