Having a bond with a mechanic is an invaluable asset as a pilot. It is the bridge between theoretical performance and physical reality.
This connection does not require "warmth" or social clutter; it requires the mutual recognition of peers who know that, at 45,000 feet, the quality of a signature on a release to service is the only thing that stands between order and collapse.
