Wednesday, October 5, 2022 - The boarders (11) had a second (and last) session of gymnastics in English with Mrs Caudron. Every student presented a sequence, some including sommersaults, The favourite gymnastic apparatus was the trampolein. Our afternoon ending with a brief hip hop sequence by Mr Varlet, a good floor exercise!
Mercredi 5 octobre 2022 - Les internes ont eu une seconde (et dernière) séance de gymnastique en anglais avec Mme Caudron. Chaque élève présenta un enchaînement, certains incluant des sauts périlleux. L'agrès qui a eu le plus de succès est le trampoline. Notre après-midi se termina par une brève présentation d'un enchaînement de hip hop, un bon travail au sol!

Wednesday, September 28, 2022 - The boarders (10) took part in a tour of the old town of Boulogne sur Mer, focusing on 13 places significant of the Franco-British relationship, in association with the Bristish Association Côte d'Opale (3 members), the Charles Dickens Fellowship Boulogne branch (1 member), and the the Heritage Class of Mrs Dehbi (1 student).
Mercredi 28 septembre 2022 - Les internes ont pris part à une visite guidée de la vieille ville de Boulogne sur Mer, qui comportait 13 lieux significatifs de la relation Franco-Britannique, en association avec la British Association Côte d'Oplae (3 membres présents), l'Association des Amis de Charles Dickens (1 membre), et la Classe Partimoine de Mme Dehbi (1 élève).

Wednesday, September 21, 2022 - The boarders (10) welcomed Mrs Hounslow, the director of the association Pas-de-Calais Tourisme. After having a cup of tea, she introduced them to the studies, the jobs and the challenges in international tourism. We even chose one of our next year's destination, and she invited those who liked it to join her for their Year 10's training period! Thank you Mrs Hounslow!
Mercredi 21 septembre 2022 - Les internes ont accueilli Mme Hounslow, directrice de l'association Pas-de-Calais Tourisme. Après une tasse de thé, elle leur a présenté les études, les emplois et les enjeux du tourisme international. Nous avons même choisi ensemble une des destinations de nos sorties de l'année prochaine, et elle a invité ceux qui étaient intéressés à les rejoindre pour leur stage de 3ieme! Merci Mme Hounslow!

Wednesday, September 14 and Friday, September 16, 2022 - The World Cleanup Day!
The students (11 boarders + around 100 year sevens during PE lessons) picked up waste. They sorted them, to allow recycling. What do they want to tell us?
- "Each year, eight million tons of plastic end up in the ocean"
- "Ci******es not only kill the smokers, they also damage the environment because of the cigarette butts"
- "Be careful to not drop rubbish the nature".
The most suprising rubbish we found? A bank card, still valid! The bank congratulated us for bringing it back. Well done students!

Mercredi 14 et vendredi 16 septembre 2022 - La journée mondiale de nettoyage de la planète!
Les élèves (11 internes, et une centaine de 6e, dans le cadre de la séquence Randonnée du cous d'EPS) ont, comme des millions de volontaires à travers le monde, ramassé des déchets. Ils les ont triés pour qu'ils soient recyclés. Que veulent-ils nous dire?
- "Chaque année, huit millions de tonnes de plastique finissent dans l'océan
- "Les ci******es ne tuent pas seulement les fumeurs, elles endommagent aussi l'environnement par les mégots"
- " Faites attention à ne pas laisser des déchets dans la nature".
Le déchet le plus étonnant trouvé? Une carte bancaire non expirée! La banque nous a félicité de l'avoir ramenée. Bien joué, les élèves!

Wednesday, September 7, 2022 - The boarders (11) had an induction session to gymnastics, in the Daunou school gymnasium, in English and French.
Mercredi 7 septembre 2022 - Les internes ont eu une séance de découverte de la gymanstique, dans le gymnase du collège Daunou, en anglais et en français.

Friday, June 10, 2022 - 8 volunteer students from the Franco-British International Section, Year 8, took part in the festival "TEAM for Ocean" in Nausicaa, with many other schools which worked on Global Warming this year. They promoted a bilingual audioblog they created, with interviews in English and French dealing with advice to reduce the warehous effect gases emission. They gave flyers to the public, and could even talk with some tourists in English. Here is the link, please comment!

Vendredi 10 juin 2022 - 8 élèves volontaires de 5eme Section Internationale Franco-Britannique ont participé au festival "TEAM for Ocean" à Nausicaa, avec de nombreuses autres écoles qui ont travaillé sur le réchauffement climatique cette année. Ils ont fait la promotion d'un audioblog bilingue qu'ils ont créé, contenant des interviews en anglais et en français présentant des conseils pour réduire l'émission de gaz à effet de serre. Thursday, July 7, 2022 - On the last day of school, the supervisors organised a talent contest for the students. The International Section took part: the year 7 volunteers (6) performing two songs by Michael Jacksons, and the year 8 volunteers (4) performing a public reading of an extract of "A Christmas Carol" by C Dickens, helped by 8 adult English speakers who volunteered to help them in their reading.
Jeudi 7 juillet 2022 - Pour le dernier jour d'école, les surveillants Assistants d'EDucation ont organisé une "Matinée des Talents" animée par les élèves pour les élèves (enfin, la cinquantaine encore présents). La Section Internationale participa: les 6eme (6) ont chanté (et joué et dancé) sur deux chansons de Michael Jackson, et les 5eme ont effectué une lecture publique d'un extrait de "A Chhristmas Carol" de C Dickens, aidés par 8 adultes anglophones qui se sont portés volontaires pour les aidés dans leur lecture.

Wednesday, June 29, 2022 - One day abroad for the boarders (12), in a foreing language! They visited Ypres : the Yorkshire Trench and Dug-out (a preserved trench from WWI), the Menin Gate (through which the soldiers would go to the battlefield), the remparts and the beautiful Flemish architecture of the Main Square, but the main purpose of our visit was to visit "In Flanders Fields Museum". Our guide Geralt offered us a one-hour tour of the museum. But also: we ate some flemish stew in the Captain Cook restaurant, and had an high-rope activity, before coming back to the school.

Wednesday, June 22, 2022 - The boarders (11) had a visit from a drama club, Calais Cultural Network, for 2 hours: a play (1h20 long) about the Hundred Years' War, with a short introduction to understand the historical references in the play, and after that they could play with the costumes and props. 4 students from the school, non boarders, volunteered to join them.
Mercredi 22 juin 2022 - Les internes (11) ont eu la visite d'une troupe de théâtre amateur, le Calais cultural Network, pendant 2 heures : il y a eu une plièce d'une durée de 1h20 sur la guerre de Cent Ans, précédée d'une introduction pour comprendre les références historiques de la pièce, et après ils ont pu jouer avec les costumes et les accessoires. 4 élèves non-internes ont souhaités se joindre aux internes à cette occasion.

Wednesday, June 15, 2022 - For their last induction session to nautical sport with the Yacht Club Boulogne this year, the boarders had a sea trip with the sailing boat (in English and in French).
Mercredi 15 juin 2022 - Pour leur dernière séance d'initiation aux sports nautiques de l'année, les internes ont fait un tour en voiler (en anglais et en français).

Wednesday, June 8, 2022 - For their nautical sports induction (in English and French) at the Yacht Club Boulogne, the boarders (6) today tried "longe-côte", which is a French new sport that doesn't exist yet in English-speaking countries, so they don't really have a word for that.
Mercredi 8 juin 2022 - Pour leur séance d'initiation aux sports nautiques, aujourd'hui les élèves ont fait du "longe-côte", qui est un sport nouvellement créé en France, dans notre région. Comme il n'existe pas encore dans les pays anglophones, il n'y a pas vraiment de mot anglais pour le désigner. On peut dire "sea walking" ou "sea paddling", mais il y a un risque de confusion (photo d'illustration).

Wednesday, June 1st, 2022 - For their nautical sports induction (in English and in French) at the Yacht Club Boulogne, the boarders had a sea trip in the sailing boat today.
