A message I received from an Ukrainian teacher after our Zoom call today. I conversed with her students aged 11-12 for about 40 minutes. They asked me questions and I asked them questions around subjects they had already covered. They were great fun. So full of positive energy. I was sad to say bye at the end. The two groups I have spoken to this week have moved me beyond words with their sheer positivity and fighting spirit. I am in awe of them all and their teachers. 😍

Slightly emotional and humbled.
I just finished a benevolent english lesson with a group of ukraninan pre-teens.
They are so brave and courageous.
It's hard to imagine what they're going through daily and yet, they were all smiles and laughter. I'm so very grateful to have been able to help them in a very small way 🙏

Celebrating 70 years on the throne.

With my English groups we learnt her age (96 years old) and that she is the 3rd longest reigning monarch in history and the longest
reigning monarch in British history.

Trivia:
At present she is the 3rd longest reigning monarch in history, with only 9 days between her and the 2nd longest reigning monarch.

Do you know who the longest reigning monarch is in history? Answer tomorrow.

J'ai déjà mentionné que je faisais un échange culturel entre mes étudiants et une collègue japonaise et ses étudiants.

Voici le message qu'elle m'a envoyé il y a quelques semaines à propos du projet final que nous avons réalisé en hiver.

"Thank you for all the pictures and videos. My students loved them, especially with the boy who said, I like to throw snowballs at my little brother🤣

I was surprised at how the boys can speak in many grammatical ways... the last boy is using, there are, here is, and "I don't like the snow because it's always coming in my feet."

That's amazing!
maybe it's because Japanese and English is so different, but I don't think my students, even the really good ones, can speak that way without my help!"
