Dhana Bruyère manages a guesthouse in Belley at her place, in collaboration with the Belley tourist office. "The name of our holiday apartment is Spice of Life. It is a self-catering apartment, which can accommodate up to 4 people. I have received people from Europe(France, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Sweden, Finland, Austria, Italy, Spain, Poland, Lativia...), UK, Australia, USA, Dubai, China, South Korea. They came to our town Belley for tourism and business purposes. I have already won Super Host status with Airbnb and the Best Traveler Reviews award with Booking.com over the past 4 years, ”says Dhana Bruyère.
“When we were studying in England, we were an international community of students from over 21 countries. For our wedding in 2004, 17 years ago, we had food prepared by all our friends, specialties of 21 nationalities for our guests. So when we moved to Belley, a very small townin France compared to the big city in England, we were particularly interested in a house with a holiday apartment, as I was worried that I would not meet international people in this small town. Since 2015, we have received so many nationalities coming to our city filled with amazing people for tourism, business, medical treatment, sports activities, training or just to eat my Indian food. I have regular customers from Switzerland who come every year for a week, just to eat my Ayurvedic vegetarian cuisine. Some come as part of a language study trip. I also have elderly and lonely clients who rent the apartment during the winter so that I can look after them and keep them company. We made incredible friends through this activity that we always keep in touch through technology.
Dhana Bruyère receives people from all walks of life in her holiday apartment.
However, since March 2020, our main customers are only from France due to Covid restrictions.

Dhana Bruyère gère un gîte à Belley chez elle, en collaboration avec l’office de tourisme de Belley. « Le nom de notre gîte est Spice of Life (L’Épice de Vie). C’est un appartement indépendant, pouvant accueillir jusqu’à 4 personnes. J’ai reçu des personnes venant d’Europe, du Royaume-Uni, d’Australie, des États-Unis, de Chine, de Corée du Sud. Ils sont venus à Belley à des fins touristiques et commerciales. J’ai déjà remporté le statut de Super hôte avec Airbnb et le prix du meilleur avis de voyageur avec Booking.com au cours des 4 dernières années » précise Dhana Bruyère.
« Lorsque nous étudiions en Angleterre, nous étions une communauté internationale d’étudiants de plus de 21 pays. Pour notre mariage en 2004, il y a 17 ans, nous avons fait préparer de la nourriture par tous nos amis, soit des spécialités de 21 nationalités pour nos invités. Alors quand nous avons emménagé à Belley, très petite ville par rapport à la grande ville d’Angleterre, nous nous sommes particulièrement intéressés à un logement avec appartement, car je craignais de ne pas rencontrer des gens internationaux dans cette petite ville. Depuis 2015, nous avons reçu tellement de nationalités venant dans notre ville remplie de gens extraordinaires pour le tourisme, les affaires, pour un traitement médical, des activités sportives, de formation ou tout simplement pour manger ma cuisine indienne. J’ai des clients réguliers de Suisse qui viennent chaque année une semaine, juste pour manger ma cuisine végétarienne ayurvédique. Certains viennent dans le cadre d’un séjour linguistique. J’ai aussi des clients âgés et solitaires qui louent l’appartement pendant l’hiver pour que je puisse m’occuper d’eux et leur tenir compagnie. Nous nous sommes fait des amis incroyables grâce à cette activité que nous gardons toujours en contact grâce aux réseaux.
Cependant depuis mars 2020, nos principaux clients sont uniquement de France en raison des restrictions Covid.
