Learn French in Mayenne

I mentioned this to some students this week... half of what I teach isn't "French" it's about how to learn, how to improve, how to make the most of the tools out there... so here's something new: ChatGPT now allows you to speak to it. You can chose your level and have conversations in English and French, or just French... I am not suggesting AI can replace real people! But, if you want to test out a conversation, if you want to practice listening, or if you just want to talk a little... try it out! Let me know what you think in the comments 😉

Post Number 3 - this time about Numbers!

NB: Remembering number rules is difficult and nothing replaces practice but here are a few hints to help:
1. I am including a poster: stick it on a wall and study it whilst brushing your teeth for example. The aim is to associate the IMAGE of a number to the sound of the number. (I have colour coded this to help)

2. Practice saying every number you come across in French, don’t rely on counting up! Throw a die / dice, add numbers together, multiply them… Don’t learn them in order!

3. Give yourself time to think when you are not under pressure. Practice your telephone number, your date of birth, all the numbers you are likely to have to give someone. Taking the pressure off you when the time comes.
