Guess where we were today?
A little corner of southwest France where ancient stone, still waters and blue shutters seem to have stepped straight out of another time. 💙

Buttery, flaky pastry. Sweet, slowly caramelized onions. A little thyme and a lot of love. 🧅🤎

A simple, rustic French classic — and proof that sometimes the most humble ingredients make the loveliest food.

The last moments of the eclipse.
A strange, magical light fell over the fields as the sun slipped behind the oaks — as if the whole landscape had paused for a moment. ✨

A lovely review from Bob 💛
Four weeks ago, Bob arrived at Le Gargantua for a few days of French cooking, good food and, hopefully, a little bit of fun along the way.
Three weeks ago, he left this wonderful review — and it still makes me smile. 😊

It’s always such a pleasure to welcome guests from different corners of the world and share not only the cooking, but the place we call home.
Thank you, Bob. And yes… we’ll be very happy to have you back! 🇫🇷❤️

All eyes on the tomatoes… 🍅🔥

And then there’s Lily. ☺️

A little caramelisation, a little shake of the pan, and one very happy cook!

A market day in Casteljaloux, with all its colour and character. 🌿
And in the background, the beautiful old town hall keeping watch over it all.

French markets are about so much more than shopping — they’re part of the rhythm of French life, a place to meet, chat, browse and, of course, buy something delicious. 🇫🇷

Some things just look better when they’re shared. 🐟

A little fish, a hot pan, a spatula — and plenty of smiles.
A happy moment from our May seasonal cooking course, where the best part is often what happens between the recipes.

A soufflé waits for no one. You literally have seconds to get the photo before that beautiful rise begins to settle… 😍

But then, a cheese soufflé is as much a treat to look at as it is to eat.

And perhaps the biggest surprise for our cooking guests? They often arrive thinking soufflé is one of those terribly difficult things that only experienced cooks can master.

Quite the opposite.

It’s actually one of the easiest things we make. It’s simple physics: if there’s air in there, it’s going to rise. 😉

And when it comes out of the oven looking like this… well, the camera had better be ready!
