As the GUEST portfolio evolves, we are moving from the current unit-based qualification and Certificate of Achievement structure to a clearer qualification framework designed to better reflect different forms and levels of professional development and the GUEST Programs.
These categories aim to providing greater clarity around learning, competence, qualification and professional recognition, while allowing GUEST Programs to be structured according to their purpose and level. A clearer structure for professional progress……
As part of this evolution, we're introducing a clearer structure for GUEST learning and qualifications.
There are four categories: ELP | PCU | PQ | PD
Endorsed Learning Programmes (ELP)
Professional Competency Units (PCU)
Professional Qualifications (PQ)
Professional Diplomas (PD)
These are not four steps that everybody has to work through, they have different purposes and different values.
For instance:
An ELP (CPD) might be exactly what someone needs to develop a particular area of knowledge or capability.
A PCU provides formally assessed, credit-bearing competence and can stand alone or contribute towards a larger qualification.
Professional Qualifications bring a number of competencies together, (PCU and ELP)
The Professional Diploma recognises more advanced professional, vocational or strategic capability.
The important change is really about clarity and recognition, being clearer about what someone has undertaken, what they've demonstrated, and what that achievement represents professionally.
So professional development doesn't have to be a single linear journey…….
