September 25. šÆļø HS LEADERSHIP DEDICATION CHAPEL | 2026ā2027
This week, the HS Student Body gathered for the Dedication Chapel Service for the elected High School Student Association and Class Officers for the 2026ā2027 school year.
Chaplain Jorge Duran shared a meaningful message on Christ-centered leadership, drawing from the example of Timothy in the Bible and reminding our student leaders that Christian leadership is about modeling Christ through humility, faithfulness, and service to others.
The service continued with a candlelighting ceremony. The lighting of each candle symbolized our student leadersā acknowledgment that the light they are called to carry does not come from themselves, but from God. As they begin their year of service, they are reminded that the Holy Spirit is the One who will sustain and fuel that light throughout the year, enabling them to lead with wisdom, humility, and a servantās heart. šÆļø
Principal Leighton S. Edward then administered the Oath of Office, as our student leaders publicly committed themselves to the responsibilities entrusted to them.
OATH OF OFFICE
"I (student name) do solemnly pledge that I will faithfully execute the duties entrusted to me.
I pledge to respect and uphold the Christian standards and regulations of my school,
to treat my fellow students with care and respect, and to carry my responsibilities with humility, integrity, and diligence.
I will seek to build a heart for God, develop a mind for excellence, and use my hands for service.
I will strive to lead by example, putting the needs of others before my own and using my position not for recognition, but as an opportunity to serve.
I commit myself to the mission and vision of Pohnpei SDA School: to help create an environment that prepares each student for a fulfilling life on earth and an eternal life in heaven.
With God as my guide, I pledge to faithfully serve my school, support my fellow students, and honor God through my leadership throughout this academic year.
I make this pledge sincerely and with Godās help."
Following the oath, Principal Leighton offered a dedication prayer over the student leaders. Surrounded by the High School teachers, our student leaders were prayed over and entrusted to God as they begin their year of service.
The moment served as a reminder that they do not lead alone. They are supported by their teachers, their school community, and most importantly, by God, who calls them to serve and promises to provide the strength and wisdom they need.
Congratulations to our 2026ā2027 HS SA and Class Officers! May you faithfully carry the responsibility entrusted to you, shine as lights on our campus, and lead others toward Christ through your example and service. šÆļøšš¬
