Oceans lyrics by Hillsong:
Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)
You call me out upon the waters
The great unknown where feet may fail
And there I find You in the mystery
In oceans deep
My faith will stand
And I will call upon Your name
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise
My soul will rest in Your embrace
For I am Yours and You are mine
Your grace abounds in deepest waters
Your sovereign hand
Will be my guide
Where feet may fail and fear surrounds me
You've never failed and You won't start now
So I will call upon Your name
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise
My soul will rest in Your embrace
For I am Yours and You are mine
[6x]
Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders
Let me walk upon the waters
Wherever You would call me
Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander
And my faith will be made stronger
In the presence of my Savior
I will call upon Your name
Keep my eyes above the waves
My soul will rest in Your embrace
I am Yours and You are mine

For the Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost. JESUS not only came to serve and to give His life for many (Matt 20:28) but again to seek and save you and I. It's hard to admit but we are all lost. The bible says that all we like sheep that have gone astray, each of us are going to our own ways. But the good news is the Good Shepherd is seeking His sheep that was lost and wants to bring them back to His fold and back to the care and love of her Master to enjoy the good pasture that the Master has prepared for her. Tonight will be Seeking for you Night for our Chi-Alpha. It will be the same time and same place (and the same Faithful and Awesome GOD!) at MITC . Be there and be bless while having fun! Blessings!

Such is the generation of those who seek him, who seek your face, O God of Jacob. My heart says of you, "Seek his face!" Your face, LORD, I will seek. - (Psalm 24:6; 27:8).
What does it mean to seek GOD's face? In the bible to seek GOD's face is to seek His favor and to desire what pleases Him. So, how do we seek GOD's F.A.C.E. ?
First on the list is F - riendship or Fellowship. Our basis of our seeking the face of GOD is because of our Friendship or Fellowship with Him through His Son (cf 1 John 1:5-7). JESUS told His disciples, I no longer call you servants because a servant does not know His master's business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I have learned from my Father I have made known to you (John 15:15). Now, before we came to Christ and received Him as Savior we were GOD's enemies. But when we accept JESUS as our LORD and Savior we are reconciled back to GOD and in effect become GOD's friend (Rom 5:10-11). Could you imagine if you are a friend of Queen Elizabeth? Or Bill Gates? or any influential people in the world? That means you have access to these influential people which regular folks does not have. That would be awesome right? But how much more if we are a friend of GOD, the One who created all things and has all the power over all things, isn't that infinitely awesome!
Secondly, to seek GOD's face means to A - dore Him. Sometimes we come to GOD with a list of things as if GOD is a genie that grants all our wishes which He is not. Or we just come rushing in His presence and forgetting to thank Him for past answers or simply adoring Him (cf Phil 4:6). That's why fellowship with GOD should be foremost in our mind when we are seeking His face and so is adoration or worship. We desire to seek GOD's face because we desire His presence more than anything else. As the psalmist said "In Thy presence there is pleasure forevermore..". (Ps 16:11). Or do you remember when JESUS taught His disciples about prayer (Luke 11:1-4)? The first word or phrase there is "Our Father", that is, we come to GOD on the basis of our relation with Him through His Son (more on this in a moment) but after that He said "Hallowed be Your Name", that means you exalt the Name of GOD above else and therefore in effect adoring Him and worshipping Him.
Thirdly, to seek GOD's face means to seek GOD through C-hrist or our prayer should be Christ-centered. Thomas one of the disciples of the LORD JESUS asked "Lord, we don't know where you are going, so how can we know the way?" (John 14:5). By the way shouldn't this be the question of the entire humanity since the Fall? How can we access GOD who is infinitely Holy and beyond comprehension? In fact I personally believe that man tries to answer that question by their own way and efforts. And that's what religion is all about, that is, trying to score points with GOD in order to approach Him. But unfortunately man is a sinner but GOD again is infinitely Holy and so, it's not the way. GOD then made a way for us through His Son JESUS Christ. He is GOD (John 1:1) and so He become man or flesh (John 1:14) so that through His death we may become reconciled to GOD if we accept GOD's offer of reconciliation (Rom 5:8-11; 2 Cor 5:21) because without the shedding of blood (of someone who is pure and sinless) there is no forgiveness of sins (Heb 9:22). And that's why when JESUS answered Thomas He saide
"I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6). In fact through the blood of JESUS, GOD opened a "new and living way" (Heb 10:19-20) towards Him. JESUS on probably the eve before His death told His disciples "I will do whatever you ask in my Name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask anything in my Name, and I will do it." (John 14:13-14).
Lastly, but not the least to seek GOD's face is to be E-nergized or E-mpowered by His Holy Spirit. The early church in the book of Acts not only on the day of Pentecost but in many occasions - the Holy Spirit's presence was very evident in their seeking of GOD. The success of the early church is not out of their ingenuity or popularity or intellect but borne out of the Holy Spirit. And Zechariah said "Not by might, nor by power but by my Spirit says the LORD Almighty!" (Zech 4:6) Paul in his epistles to the Ephesians commanded them to "Pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.." (Eph 6:18). And in his letter to the Romans he said "In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. And He who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with GOD's will" (Rom 8:26-27). We humans no matter how educated we are, we in many ways does not still know how to pray. And worst we don't know to pray in accordance with GOD's will. And this is where the Holy Spirit comes in for us. He helps in our weakness in the right way to pray and to pray according to GOD's will. In fact He is interceding for us, so that our prayer will align according to what GOD desires for our lives and in line with His sovereign plan for us and for the whole world.
Who may ascend the hill of the LORD? Who may stand in his holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to an idol or swear by what is false. He will receive blessing from the LORD and vindication from God his Savior. Such is the generation of those who seek him, who seek your face, O God of Jacob.
My heart says of you, "Seek his face!" Your face, LORD, I will seek. - Psalm 24:3-6; 27:8

Imagine you have a very high fever (GOD forbid!) and yet you refuse to take a medicine because according to you, you don't have a fever and it's just a figment of your imagination that you have a fever. Or let's say you know you have a fever and you see a Doctor and Doctor told you that you need to stop eating sweets because you have Tonsillitis and the sweets are the one causing your Tonsillitis and eventually your fever. And yet you ignore the Doctor and still eat a lot of sweets. Do you think you would get better or worse? Of course worse right? Now, the Bible talk about the same problem for us humans. When JESUS was dining with the tax collectors (including Matthew) and 'sinners' the Pharisees were complaining because JESUS dine with 'sinners'. JESUS reply was "Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick." (Matt 9:12). That is, those who sees their need of a Savior and acknowledge that they are sinners (translated: sick) will come to Him but those who think they are 'ok' or have so much confidence in their righteousness (translated: well) will not come to Him and admit that they are sinners in need of a Savior. You and I are 'sick' not with physical sickness (although of course that could happen) but more of the serious one, that is, sin. And because of that we need a Savior and that alone could be found in JESUS! Do you think you are righteous enough that you could make your way to heaven without a need of a Savior? Then that is self-righteousness my friend and will lead you to eternal disappointment in hell (John 3:18). Because the bible says JESUS is the Only way to Heaven and that it is only through His Name we could be save (Acts 4:12). And that's why He is the only One who could save us. But we need to admit that we are sinners and that we need Him as our Savior. And if you have not done that. The do so today, admit that you are a sinner and come to JESUS and trust Him today as your Savior. However, if you are a Christian already and has already put your faith in the LORD JESUS Christ as your LORD and Savior then you and I still needs JESUS. And by the way it's not only on Sunday or Friday that we need Him. We need Him everyday in fact every moment. Let us acknowledge of our need of Him moment by moment and I will tell you His grace and provisions is more than enough for our weaknesses for His strength is made for our weaknesses (2 Corinthians 12:9). Come to our Chi-Alpha Friday night for our Health Night and let's declare our need for Him as we come together to have clean fun and at the same time to worship Him as our LORD and Savior.
The human heart is the hardest working muscle in the human body that it could pump a million barrels of blood throughout the human on an average lifetime.
And that's why doctors will tell us that we should keep our heart in tip-top shape otherwise just a simple damage on any part of the human heart could lessen the power of the human heart to pump blood. Now, the bible speaks in the same vein about the heart of man not the physical one though but the seat of emotions, will and intellect of man is what is known as "heart" in the bible. It tells us to guard our hearts because out of it flows the issues of life, that is, everything that you do in life
whether in school, in your home, in your workplace or with your friends your "heart" is involve in it. But the problem is our heart is by nature deceitful and beyond cure (Jer 17:9) and corrupt (Matt 15:19-20). And the only way it could be cured is for a heart transplant. And the bible tells us also about that, namely, that GOD will give
us a new heart if we come to the LORD JESUS Christ and admit our sinfulness and turn away from our sins. GOD says that He will take away our stony heart and give
us instead a heart of flesh that will follow Him (Ezekiel 36:26). Come to JESUS today and admit your sins and He will washed away your sins and give you a new heart!
Reminder : Chi-Alpha tonight at MITC after a break because of Valentines celebration at the School Gym. It would be Heart Night tonight. Be there, have fun and be Bless! And a quick also reminder from the Word of GOD that "Above else guard your heart for it is the wellspring of life!" (Prov 4:23).
