We’d like to shine the spotlight on the wonderful team at Westpac Suva Branch for embracing and celebrating our Yat Sen 90/40 Anniversary right there in their office. ❤️💛

It’s so heartwarming to see Yat Sen alumni, Yat Sen parents, and the staff of this particular department coming together to celebrate and proudly display the spirit of our beloved school.

From the beautiful latern display to the familiar faces, it’s a wonderful reminder that the Yat Sen family extends far beyond the school gates.

❤️💛 DAY TWO: THREADS OF TRADITION 💛❤️

A little reel from an incredible night! ✨

From Kindergarten to Year 13, our K**a Dragons took the stage and celebrated the many cultures, talents and traditions that make Yat Sen so special. 🐉

What began as a sold-out event grew even bigger as students, families, alumni and the wider community showed up to support our young performers. ❤️💛

Vinaka vakalevu to our students, teachers, parents, PTFA, community and the 2010s & 2020s alumni decade + 90/40 organizing committee for making tonight such a success!

✨ A little look behind the scenes of Culture Night! ✨

From Kindergarten all the way to Year 13, our K**a Dragons were busy rehearsing, preparing and getting ready to take the stage for Day 2: Cultural Night – “Threads of Tradition.” 🐉❤️💛

And what a show it turned out to be! 🙌🏽

These rehearsal moments are a beautiful reminder of the incredible talent, creativity and diversity that flows through Yat Sen. Different cultures, traditions and generations came together on one stage, giving our young people a platform to express themselves, share their heritage and simply shine. ✨

It was truly special to see such young talent take the stage with so much confidence, energy and pride.

A heartfelt vinaka vakalevu to our wonderful teachers, parents, the incredible PTFA, and of course, our Anniversary Organising Committee, whose dedication behind the scenes helped bring it all together.

Culture Night was proudly organised by the 2010s & 2020s decade of Yat Sen alumni, and we extend our deepest appreciation to every student, teacher, parent, volunteer, performer and supporter who played a part in making the evening such a success.

From rehearsals to the big stage — you all made us proud. ❤️💛🐉

Day 2 — Culture Night: “Threads of Tradition” — is about to begin, and the excitement is already building!

Gates opened at 4:00 p.m., and the venue is already filling up. The pre-show kicks off at 5:00 p.m., followed by the formal programme at 6:00 p.m.

With numbers increasing drastically, we’ve had to expand our seating to accommodate the incredible turnout. It’s truly wonderful to see our community, families and friends coming together to celebrate, support and honour Yat Sen’s 90/40 legacy.

We’re in for an incredible evening of culture, tradition, performances and, most importantly, togetherness.

Culture Night is underway — let’s celebrate! ❤️💛

Thank you 🙏, SJSS Alumnae, for celebrating Yat Sen Primary’s 90th and Yat Sen Secondary’s 40th anniversaries with us.

Congratulations also on SJSS’s wonderful 70th anniversary celebrations last week. Our schools share a special connection through the Sisters of St Mary, faith, education, and generations of Yat Sen girls who continued their journey at SJSS.

Vinaka vakalevu for the friendship and shared legacy. Wishing the SJSS community continued blessings and success.

🎊 From all of us at the SJSS Alumnae, congratulations! We share and celebrate with joy as Yat Sen Primary marks 90 years and Yat Sen Secondary marks 40 years of educating and shaping young lives in Fiji! What a remarkable milestone for two institutions that mean so much to us and to so many.

🙏🏽 Our shared history runs deep. The Missionary Sisters of the Society of Mary, taught English at Yat Sen so our roots are planted and watered by the same faith, grown under the same God. What a beautiful legacy we share! ✨

🌏 For generations, Yat Sen has been a foundational school for so many girls, especially within Fiji's local Chinese and Asian communities, who then joined SJSS for their high school journeys. These girls became our classmates, our sisters, our lifelong friends. They brought their cultures, their stories, their brilliance and their light into our halls, and SJSS was far richer for it. We are family, literally and figuratively.

📚 Two schools. One mission. Educating girls to become women of substance, faith, and purpose. Today, we honour Yat Sen's contribution to that mission and celebrate the thousands of women who have passed through your gates and gone on to shape Fiji and the world.
