The Graduate School of Business (GSB) is located at Statham Campus and currently, Professor Gurmeet Singh is the Head of the Graduate School of Business (GSB) and Director of the MBA programme. The Master of Business Administration (MBA) was first offered in 1995 by The University of The South Pacific. It has since then established itself as a high quality, internationally recognised programme. As well as offering the MBA courses to both full-time and part-time students in Suva, we continued to deliver the programme to part-time students in other pacific island nations. The Programme is intended for managers, practising executives, administrators and other professionals. The main aim is to provide them with knowledge and skills to enhance their performance and to enable them to assume broader responsibility in the rapidly changing environment faced by businesses and governments alike. Structured along the lines of the best MBA programmes worldwide, the USP Programme is also unique in its special focus on the South Pacific business environment. It is highly flexible, permitting both full and part-time study. Along with access to an internationally recognized core of managerial knowledge, the USP Programme offers rich opportunities for students to pursue individual interests. The Master of Business Administration (MBA) program of the Graduate School of Business (GSB), The University of the South Pacific (USP) has become a market leader among Pacific Island states with an excellent regional reputation for quality and relevance. These characteristics have contributed greatly to the rise in enrolments over the decade and to the graduation of over 500 students. The program not only makes a much needed and appreciated contribution to addressing the shortage of skilled managers in the region but also gives kudos and a healthy flow of funds to USP. At a personal level, graduates reported their high appreciation of the blending of theory and practice while the 2007 Tracer Study found that USP’s MBA graduates experienced an average 66 percent salary increase compared to their pre-MBA incomes. Staff on the MBA program, both academic and administrative, were found to be well qualified, able and highly committed. They have been keys to the success of the program.
