Hello there!!!
The library is conducting training for students on our Electronic Database such as IEEE,EBSCO Host,ProQuset Central etc. Come to Derrick Library to get registered which is free.Library staff are most welcome to assist you and they will give you the schedule training day that will be at your convenience.This will be the answer to your research work or assignments,so do come to get registered and attend the training.
Looking forward in serving our users of Derrick Library.
Wishing former students and past students, and also lecturers of Derrick Campus a fruitful academic year !! Derrick library opens from 7 am - 11 pm from the 15th of January 2018 - Mon - Saturday, Sunday we open from 8 am - 5pm.

FNU DERRICK LIBRARY....CEST ENGINEERING EXHIBITION ON THE 14th -15th SEPTEMBER,2017
College of Engineering Science & Technology has organized 2017 Engineering Exhibition on the theme “Engineering Innovation for Sustainable future”.
Derrick Library which is the heart of the College has organized an exhibition of books and demonstrating Digital library on Engineering Science and Technology which was held on 14th and 15th September, 2017.
FNU Library which is the first ISO Certificate Library in the South Pacific Region. FNU Library has subscribed vast amount of prestigious Scholarly Online Databases on various subjects so as to meet the information needs of the students and faculty members of FNU. These scholarly resources are gateway to Global Knowledge to strengthen the Teaching and Learning and Research. Derrick Library staff has demonstrated these scholarly resources and Digital Library to the viewers visited to the Exhibition.
Derrick Library has also organized Exhibition of books on different theme on engineering information, references source and service and Exploring Fiji. The theme of the Exhibition selected to inculcate the reading habits amongst the current net generation. Books covering various themes like Fiji Culture, Customs, Economy, Politics, History, fauna & Flora and folk dance were exhibited on the Exhibition titled “Exhibition of Books on Fiji”. Another important theme of the Exhibition was “Reference Sources and Services. Reference sources such as dictionaries, encyclopedias, almanacs, atlases, etc. were exhibited in this Exhibition. These research tools that can help the people for seeking firsthand information and answers to specific questions, such as brief facts, statistics and provide background information. Viewers were explained the important and usage of these valuable resources. The High school students visited to the Exhibition said the Exhibition was organized in wonderful manner and we were able to learn much about the different kind of information sources and their use. And they were benefited much.
“Information seeking behaviors of net generation has been changed tremendously. Current generations are more comfortable to access and retrieve the information through their Electronic Gadgets and Social Media”. Considering these tremendous changes put forwarded by the ICT, FNU Libraries has already come forwarded to bridge the gap and introduced the Digital Library to its patrons so as to matching the GOOGLE Generation”.
