FROM THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION, HERITAGE AND ARTS
Dear Parents/Guardians
Greetings.
We hope that you are keeping your families safe during these challenging times. As you are aware, all schools remain closed for the safety and welfare of our people. While the Ministry continues to make available learning materials for all our students through a number of platforms, we do hope that you, as parents and guardians, continue to assist your children in their home learning environment.
We encourage you to take advantage of your childrenās presence at home to not only help them with their schoolwork, but also create activities that help teach them social and cultural values, gardening, cooking and other crafts, including the value of recycling, environmental sustainability and general well-being. Your involvement in your childrenās learning is very important now. COVID-19 has brought with it not only financial hardships, but also emotional stress.
I urge you all to protect your children and be sensitive to their needs. Whenever you feel your children need counselling support, please contact the nearest Divisional Education Officers who can arrange for counseling support through our qualified counsellors.
We are partners in our childrenās welfare so let us work together to do the best we can for our children.
