PUBLIC NOTICE BY THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION - FAKE NEWS
The Ministry of Education wishes to clarify that the โSchool Closure Notice โ Hantavirus Precautionary Measuresโ currently circulating on social media is fake and has not been issued or endorsed by the Ministry.
The public is advised to disregard this misinformation and refrain from sharing unverified content that may cause unnecessary fear and confusion among students, parents, and school communities.
Official announcements from the Ministry of Education will only be communicated through verified government platforms and official media channels.

PUBLIC ADVISORY - SCHOOL OPERATIONS UPDATE
The Minister for Education, Hon. Aseri Radrodro wishes to inform all parents, guardians, students, and school management that all schools in the Central and Eastern Divisions will reopen tomorrow, Friday 10 April, while schools in the Western Division will remain closed.
The Minister advises that all schools to be in full and normal operation by Monday 13th April. All schools in the Northern Division are to continue operating as normal.

Due to severe weather and flooding across the country, the Ministry of Education has announced that all schools will remain closed until further notice.
Parents and guardians are advised to keep children at home and ensure they do not cross flooded roads, rivers, or drains.
Tertiary institutions will make their own decisions based on risk assessments.
Students are encouraged to use this time for revision and reading.

Minister for Education Aseri Radrodro confirmed that 208,764 out of 212,845 applications for the Back to School Assistance Programme have been approved, achieving a 98% approval rate. About $41.8 million has already been paid to families to assist with school expenses.
Some applications are still being verified due to issues such as duplicate entries or missing information. The Ministry assured parents that no eligible child will be left behind.
Applications are still open in this final phase, and families are encouraged to submit their forms to their respective schools or the nearest District Offices.
