A Tribute to Women's Strength and Resilience
International Women's Day, celebrated on March 8th, is a powerful reminder of the progress we have made in the fight for gender equality, as well as the work that still lies ahead.
Women in Business has made massive contributions to many Fijian women’s progress and escalation to higher levels in their organisations and society.
We are proud of our achievements, with over 20 years of work promoting women in business and commerce. It is heartwarming to see that many women have been recognised and promoted to higher levels because of our focused intervention and we celebrate this.
Our contributions have kept the women in leadership agenda alive, sparking compelling thought and discussion on the slow progress in this area. It's time to take bold steps forward and ensure that our efforts lead to tangible change.
As we embrace the theme “Accelerate Action,” we remind everyone that we need to move faster and push harder for gender equality in leadership. Let's unite and amplify our voices to create a more inclusive and equitable future for all.
Let us all honor and celebrate the achievements of women around the world and recognize their invaluable contributions to society, the economy, culture, and politics.
To mark International Women's Day, we celebrate the women who have shaped our world and continue to strive for a future where gender equality is a reality. We honor the strength, courage, and resilience of women everywhere and commit to making the world a better place for all.
While we have made significant strides in gender equality, much work remains. Women continue to face inequalities in the workplace, in educational opportunities, and in access to healthcare. It is imperative that we address these disparities and create an inclusive environment where women can thrive. We must advocate for equal pay, support female leadership, and challenge societal norms that perpetuate discrimination.
International Women's Day is not only a celebration but also a call to action. It reminds us that gender equality is not a women's issue; it is a human issue. Men and women must stand together in solidarity to dismantle the barriers that hinder women's progress. By supporting each other and working towards common goals, we can create a world where everyone has the opportunity to succeed.
Happy International Women's Day!

WIB shares with much sadness with the families of Mr YP Reddy and Mr Vinod Patel at the loss of these two remarkable business leaders of our Country. Both these pioneers in business were well respected and both their businesses had and still contribute to many women’s livelihoods. We have much to learn from their business acumen and aspire to greater heights. They will be remembered well beyond their lives and their legacies will remain into the future.
