Important Notice: Implementation of New Student Retention and Progression Policy.
Dear Parents and Guardians of Mulomulo Secondary and Primary School,
We would like to inform you that the Ministry of Education’s Student Retention and Progression Policy officially came into effect on 6 December 2025.
This policy introduces an important change to the education system by discontinuing the long-standing “No Repeat Policy.” Under the new framework, students will no longer progress automatically to the next year level regardless of academic performance.
Scope and Key Requirements
The policy applies to all students from Year 1 to Year 12. In order to be promoted to the next year level, students must meet the following minimum requirements:
Academic Performance: Achieve 50% or higher in each subject
Attendance: Maintain a minimum of 80% attendance throughout the academic year
This policy is intended to ensure that students have adequately mastered essential knowledge and skills before advancing, thereby strengthening learning outcomes and long-term academic success.
As we transition to these new standards, we strongly encourage parents, guardians, teachers, and students to work closely together to support students in meeting these expectations.
Should you require further clarification or support regarding the implementation of this policy, please do not hesitate to contact the School Principal or the Head Teacher.
For additional information, please refer to the Ministry’s media release available at the link below:
https://www.fijitimes.com.fj/repeat-policy-return
Thank you for your continued support and cooperation in ensuring the success of our students.
