🌱 Planting for the Future 🌱

As part of the University of Fiji's World Environment Day 2026 celebrations, our Chief Guest, Divisional Planning Officer West, Mr Elimi Rokoduru, joined the Executive Director of Human Resources, Mr Ashneel Singh, the Head of Department for Science, Associate Professor, Dr Ramendra Prasad and the Facilities Officer, Mr Gurudeep Singh in planting a Vesi sapling at the Saweni Campus.

This symbolic act reflects our shared commitment to this year's theme, "Climate Action", and the campaign slogan, "Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future."

The Vesi tree, one of Fiji's treasured indigenous hardwood species, stands as a symbol of resilience, sustainability, and our responsibility to protect the environment for generations to come.

Together, we are taking meaningful steps towards a greener and more sustainable future.

🌿 Inspired by Nature.
🌏 For Climate.
🌱 For Our Future.

Congratulations to SOST colleagues, Ms Ayesha Reddy, Ms Dhrishna Charan, and Assoc. Prof. Ramendra Prasad, on their Scopus Q1 publication in the journal Energy!

This achievement reflects a strong international research collaboration between The University of Fiji and KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden, under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Anders Malmquist and Assoc. Prof. Ramendra Prasad.

Another reminder that impactful, globally relevant research can emerge from small island nations with big ideas and determined researchers.

Hearty congratulations to the authors, supervisors, and collaborators on this outstanding
achievement!
