The people of Fiji especially the communities of Vuda and nearby villages have made their position clear: this project is not welcome here.
If this waste to energy proposal was rejected in Western Sydney due to environmental and community concerns, why is it now being brought to Fiji? Are we seen as less deserving of clean air, safe land, and proper environmental protection?
Fiji is not a fallback option.
We call on the Department of Environment to listen to the voices of the people, to act with integrity, and to prioritise the long term health of our communities and ecosystems over short term interests.
Stand with Vuda. Stand with Fiji.

There are exciting plans on the table for a brand-new RUGBY STADIUM in Saweni — a place where our young athletes could train, our teams could compete, and our community could come together in true Fijian spirit.
But these plans are now under threat.
The proposed Waste-to-Energy Incinerator could STOP this stadium from ever moving forward.
🚫 No stadium.
🚫 No tourism development.
🚫 No hotels or sporting events to lift our local economy.
Instead?
Just waste trucks…
And an incinerator releasing toxic, gas-filled fumes where families should be cheering from grandstands.
Sport brings unity, pride, and opportunity.
A rugby stadium means jobs, youth development, tournaments, visitors, and hope.
An incinerator means the opposite.
We say NO to an industrial waste site.
We say YES to our future.
YES to clean air.
YES to tourism.
YES to rugby.
YES to the Saweni Stadium.
Our community deserves sports fields, not smokestacks.
Our children deserve opportunities, not pollution.
Let’s protect Saweni.
Let’s protect our future.
Let’s protect our game.
Say NO to the incinerator. Say YES to the stadium.
