In Finland we have a free high quality school lunch for pupils. The consumption of the food is hard to estimate and almost every day good food is left over. The surplus food used to go to biowaste but now many municipalities have started to sell or give the surplus school food for citizens.
For example elder people, who don't want/ can't cook anymore, are happy to get healthy lunch with low price.

This year's theme, 'Island Biodiversity', was chosen to coincide with the designation by the United Nations General Assembly of 2014 as the International Year of Small Island Developing States.

This advice would be good to give for many business world's representatives...
Our economy exists within our environment - let's not forget that! Conscious Consumers - support businesses that practice this :) Spread the world and encourage other people/businesses too.

At least we Finns complain that the food is too expensive and still we are wasting a big share of the food we buy... smart or not?
