I can train people to do lash lifts.
What I can’t teach is a person’s inner sense of aesthetics, or how they choose to care for their clients.
For example, I always tell my students: lotion number one in a lash lift is a chemical. If it touches the skin, it causes pain. I can say this a hundred times. But if a student goes to their own salon, applies the lotion too close to the skin — and when the client says, “That hurts” — and the student just answers, “Don’t worry, it’ll pass” — then there’s nothing more I can do.
And honestly, these days, it’s become quite delicate to tell someone: what you’re doing isn’t okay, you’re causing your client pain. People don’t receive that kind of feedback easily. That’s just the reality we’re in.
The same goes for aesthetics.
I can teach technique — but I can’t teach you to see whether a photo is actually beautiful before you post it online.
Whether the angle is unflattering.
Whether the skin looks tired.
Whether you can see up someone’s nose.
Nobody wants an ugly photo of themselves on the internet.
Even the most confident women will panic over a tiny wrinkle in a photo — and rightfully so, that’s their face.
So when I look at some of my students’ work online, I sometimes think: would you be okay if that were a photo of you?
Because… the answer is clearly no.
There are things I can teach.
But some things — the ethics, the eye for beauty, the genuine care for another person — those come from within.
You either bring them with you, or you don’t.

“Don’t use this technique.”
“This is dangerous.”
“Don’t follow this person.”
And then… couple of years later the SAME people suddenly start teaching it themselves.
Am I the only one noticing this in the beauty industry?
First it was LED glue.
Then Asian / Korean lash lift techniques.
Then plastic wrapping during lash lift processing.
At first:
🚫 “Unsafe.”
🚫 “Wrong.”
🚫 “Bad technique.”
Later:
✨ “Actually this works.”
✨ “Actually this is safe.”
✨ “Actually we offer this training too.”
So what changed?
Did the technique change?
As a small educator and business owner, this honestly raises difficult questions about integrity in influencing.
Because there is a BIG difference between:
✔️ educating responsibly
and
❌ using influence to silence smaller artists and innovators.
Sometimes the beauty industry forgets that many new ideas start from small technicians testing, learning, and sharing experiences first.
💭 QUESTION:
Have you noticed how some beauty trends are rejected first… and later fully accepted?
