Our Grade 1 explorers visited the Turku Biological Museum. From coming face-to-face with local wildlife to learning about Finland’s beautiful ecosystems, it was a day filled with curiosity and big smiles. Thank you for having us 🎒✨

Our brilliant first graders reached a massive milestone! To celebrate mastering every single letter of the alphabet in both Finnish and English, we threw the ultimate Alphabet Party. 🥳

Seeing the art through their eyes (and all those colours!) was the highlight of our week. 🌈

Turns out, we’re pretty good at this robot thing. 🤖🥈 Huge shoutout to the TIS Robotics team for snagging 2nd Place at the FLL Regional Finals! So incredibly proud of this crew for proving that hard work—and a lot of debugging—actually pays off! 🚀✨

TIS Grade 1s took over Impivaara today! ⛷️❄️ They did a fantastic job! Let’s keep those skis moving while we still have the snow! Well done, everyone! 👏🏻

Our school library will now be open on one afternoon each week after school. If the pilot proves successful, we may extend the opening hours in the future.

The library will be open every Tuesday from 14.30 to 15.30.

Parents from our school’s Parent Association (PTA) will be volunteering in the library during this time.

Students: You are warmly welcome to enjoy the cozy atmosphere, borrow books, read, or do your homework! 📚

The Grade 2 pupils are getting ready for Kalevala Day on February 28th!
In their music lessons this week, the children have been learning to play the kantele, Finland’s traditional string instrument.
By playing the kantele, our students are connecting with Finnish culture in a fun and hands-on way. We are very proud of our young musicians! 🎶

What a perfect day for skiing and skating! ☀️⛸️ 🎿⛷️

The avid readers of 8A won the TIS secondary school Book Bingo by reading a whopping 30+ books in about 3 weeks. The City of Turku gave the whole class loudspeakers as a prize for their hard work. Congrats, 8A! 🥳

Our Grade 2 class had a wonderful time exploring Vasaramäki library today! The pupils loved discovering the cozy reading corners and picking out their first books to borrow. It was a morning filled with wide eyes and big smiles 🤓

Happy Runeberg’s Day! Hyvää Runebergin päivää! 🍰🇫🇮 this special treat waited for us in the lunch hall today! 😋 Big thanks to lovely TIS kitchen ladies ❤️
