We are extremely proud of the results, collaboration and dedication of the Ministry of Education and stakeholders during this process in Lesotho! 💚

Key achievements included the teacher policy framework, a new monitoring and evaluation framework for teachers, incentives supporting the work motivation and commitment of teachers in challenging regions, as well as the structural and financial model for the teacher council.

Through the Technical Assistance, delivered under the Regional Teachers’ Initiative for Africa (RTIA) and coordinated in Finland by the Finnish National Agency for Education (EDUFI), Learning Scoop´s role involved providing expert support to the Ministry of education, driving project ex*****on, facilitating stakeholder workshops, and producing the project deliverables with high quality.

Thank you RTIA Facility for your ongoing support and everyone involved for completing the Country Action Plan!

The PISA results have once again sparked discussion around the world. We wrote a blog post sharing our thoughts on Finland’s results and reflecting on the goals of the Finnish education system. Read the blog post here:

The latest PISA 2025 results have generated extensive international discussion, including within Finland. But perhaps the most interesting questions are not about rankings. They are about what schools should prepare children and young people for. How can we inspire children to read in a world domina...

🇫🇮 📚 A week of learning from Finnish education on our autumn's first Comprehensive Education Study Tour!

Our study tour participants visited various schools, gaining first-hand insights into everyday school life.

The visits offered plenty of ideas and thought-provoking discussions of for example student-centred learning and functional teaching methods.

A key takeaway was the importance of recognising students’ strengths, building their self-confidence and supporting their overall well-being alongside academic learning. The week also highlighted the power of collaboration — between teachers, different professionals, schools and families. And, of course, there was plenty of joy in learning, including a wonderful visit to the forest with the Luhtaröllit nature group! 🌲💚

A big thank you to all the schools, teachers, staff, students and especially the participants for making this study tour memorable! 🇫🇮✨

💡egalitatea şi încrederea sunt concepte-cheie;l îm școală;
💡părinții, elevii și directorii au încredere în profesori, profesorii în părinți, în directori, în elevi;
💡 profesorii au datoria să înțeleagă în ce mod poate un elev să învețe cel mai bine;
💡 predarea diferențiată este integrată în manuale;
💡 Mottoul unei şcoli: "Nu ne permitem să pierdem potențialul nimănui!"
💡 la școală elevii învață să gătească, să curețe bucătaria, să spele haine, iar părinții evaluează acasă progresul lor. Au ateliere de tâmplărie, sudură, textile, obligatorii până la clasa a 7-a, indiferent de gen - sunt abilități de viață;
💡 profesorii au un grad foarte ridicat de autonomie - bazat pe curriculum decid: când/cum/unde/ce materiale/cum evaluează/cum colaborează cu ceilalți profesori;
💡 la fiecare 2 ani sunt selectate eșantioane de elevi din toate școlile din țară și se testează nivelul acestora, iar dacă sunt diferențe mari, se proiectează reglarea;
💡 elevii nu sunt presați să exceleze la nicio materie dacă nu doresc. Sunt învățați de mici sa ia decizii în școală cu privire la învățarea lor. Din clasa a 7-a sunt întrebați ce nivel doresc sa atingă - de exemplu la matematică sau engleză hotărăsc că 8 e nivelul dorit. 8 înseamnă bine, 9 e foarte bine, 10 e excelență. Profesorii nu pun nicio presiune sa își dorească mai mult. Daca iau 6 / 7 la un test, îl mai pot repeta dacă doresc. Daca iau 4 / 5 nota nu se consemnează, se intervine, se repetă testele pana elevul ajunge la nivelul mulțumitor;
💡 există evaluări constante pentru profilarea elevilor - elevii învață sa învețe si primesc instrumente să se poată autoevalua și autodetermina să învețe;
💡 competiția și ierarhizarea sunt descurajate de către profesori;
💡 evaluarea elevilor este puternic ancorată în curriculum și în scopurile declarate ale acestuia;
💡🧮 procentul alocat educației este 5,5% din PIB!

There are people..and then there are PEOPLE!💚

It is hard to express how sincerely grateful and happy we are that 20 of our experts were able to join Learning Scoop´s Summer Party in a glorious weather in a typical Finnish cottage setting☀️. Our family has grown steadily, and it felt like a dream coming true to see so many of our talented key players around the same table laughing, sharing learning experiences, having fun and planning the steps further! We would not be here today without our dedicated team and everyone sharing the same passion for education: let's create impact for a better tomorrow and for the good of the next generation.

Delicious food by Aura Catering , one of the most beautiful evenings this summer, hugs and laughs – real feeling of togetherness. Thank you so much!✨️
