âœłïž 50 billion € ...
.. is the estimated value of the European craft sector. It has a massive economic reality, representing millions of jobs, heritage, and constant innovation.

Despite this significant economic footprint, the sector is held back by a fundamental gap in infrastructure. Without a shared EU-wide definition or dedicated NACE codes, this €50 billion industry is often cut off from the reliable data and funding mechanisms it requires to thrive.

It is time to bridge this gap.

On 10 December, we will discuss, how we can turn the economic weight into political recognition.

"As a retired NASA astronaut, Nyberg had the unique experience of quilting in space, when she brought a sewing project on the International Space Station (ISS) during her six-month trip in 2013. She is an avid quilter and artist as well as an engineer. While on the ISS, she put out the call for star-themed quilt blocks and received enough for 30 quilts from more than 30 countries, a reminder of just how much enthusiasm there is for space among quilters and vice versa. Nyberg’s work bridges the gap between art and science, two fields that can sometimes be thought of as at odds." - Erin Cooney
