cula and first-rate learning environments and processes. Now you can. Teacher Academy Finland (TAF) is a high-caliber further education program specifically designed for educators trained outside of Finland. Held in Tampere, Finland, this diverse and comprehensive program lasts 5 months. The program is meant for those teachers and teacher students who want to learn more about a world-class educational system. For those currently in the trade, Teacher Academy Finland is a further training program. For those studying to become teachers, the program can be integrated into a bachelor’s or master’s degree through international cooperation agreements. The TAF program showcases the principles affecting the educational system and basic education in Finland, as well as the practices and actions that stem from them. The program is made up of 10 modules, each of which will cover one theme in theory and in practice. The Miracle of Finnish Education – How do we do it? The Program Content:

* Finnish society, culture and educational system
* Learning concepts in the Finnish educational system
* Curriculum in Finnish basic education
* Teaching methods and promoting learning
* Assessment in Finnish education
* Information and communications technology in basic education
* Special education, integration, support systems and guidance in Finnish education
* How to teach subject matter
* The school as a learning community
* Learning environments and collaboration in Finnish schools

Each module includes on-campus learning at the Teacher Academy Finland and shadowing and practice in a Finnish comprehensive school. The program is designed based on research and on a deep understanding of the Finnish educational mindset. It takes a practical approach and develops each teacher’s skills and capacities. The focus is to mirror educational mindsets and practices, as well as to develop the participant’s own thoughts on education and learning. We promise that Teacher Academy Finland will give participants a unique opportunity to develop their professional skills as teachers. After completing the Teacher Academy’s program, participants will be able to raise the quality of teaching and learning in their schools to a whole new level.
