Big congratulations to our senior researcher and head of ATMOS experimental team Jack Lin for his new Academy Project "Surface chemistry of realistic atmospheric particles and droplets investigated with novel X-ray methods"! Jack will be recruiting his project team this fall.

Today, ATMOS kicked off the Finnish summer festivities with our annual BBQ! With warm weather finally here and midsummer approaching next week, we enjoyed good food and great company. Wishing everyone a happy summer! ☀️🍖🎉

At last Friday's ATMOS coffee Dr. Ilona Ylivinkka from INAR - Institute for Atmospheric and Earth System Research gave a compelling talk on the topic "Insights into carbon-based terrestrial climate feedback mechanisms" and Lingyu Kong brought a moon cake.

The last few weeks were packed with many different Christmas and Holiday events where we met our colleagues, enjoyed good food, and had fun.😀

The 13th FSRUO annual meeting happened last week remotely with Oulun yliopisto - University of Oulu local coordination. The organizing committee included Minna Patanen from NANOMO group and Nonne Prisle & Gargi Sengupta from ATMOS. Great to see peers interested in international large-scale light sources.

Measuring glycine clusters at the FlexPES beamline MAX IV Laboratory is the place to be on a Saturday evening. We dispatched Jack to join the fun last week.

This week we were at the MAX IV Laboratory user meeting: “Collaboration in Focus”. The three days were filled with exciting science and interesting discussions with friends and collaborators, both new and old. Congrats to those who made this happen.
