As the programme moves to Otaniemi in mid-august, we take a moment to look back as we close this chapter:

The International Business programme began in 1989 as the first English-taught bachelor’s degree at the Helsinki School of Economics, created at a time when expanding study opportunities in Finland was especially important. It later became part of Aalto University, while keeping its distinct structure, intensive three-week modules, an international faculty, and a truly global student body.

Based in Mikkeli since the beginning, the programme has brought together students and professors from around the world, with exchange studies as a core part of the experience.

Now the programme moves to Otaniemi. The setting changes, but the foundation remains, while access to a larger campus and new networks creates room for something bigger and opens new doors for our current and future students.

Thank you, Mikkeli, for the years, the people, and the perspective.

On to what’s next.

From here on, you can follow and to keep up with what’s ahead.

“One of the most important things I have taken from Aalto was a truly global mindset.”

International Business Programme alum Kati Vilhelmsson encourages current students to actively seek international opportunities and trust the power of their networks. In her story, she shares insights from building a career at Relex Solutions (founded by three Aalto alumni in Otaniemi) and her experience studying in the programme.
