As the programme moves to Otaniemi in mid-august, we take a moment to look back as we close this chapter:

The International Business programme began in 1989 as the first English-taught bachelor’s degree at the Helsinki School of Economics, created at a time when expanding study opportunities in Finland was especially important. It later became part of Aalto University, while keeping its distinct structure, intensive three-week modules, an international faculty, and a truly global student body.

Based in Mikkeli since the beginning, the programme has brought together students and professors from around the world, with exchange studies as a core part of the experience.

Now the programme moves to Otaniemi. The setting changes, but the foundation remains, while access to a larger campus and new networks creates room for something bigger and opens new doors for our current and future students.

Thank you, Mikkeli, for the years, the people, and the perspective.

Starting to look for an apartment in Otaniemi? Here are a few tips before apartment hunting 👇

⏳ Start early! Good places go fast, especially around campus
🏢 Apply through Hoas + AYY (but check private rentals too, just in case)
📍 Don’t limit yourself to Otaniemi, nearby areas like Tapiola or Leppävaara have great connections
