International Singing Conference V 21-25 July 2016 in Lahti, Finland. The theme of this year´s conference is “The Inner Music of Human Being”. Mrs.

We warmly welcome all singing friends to the International Singing Conference V in Sylvia-koti/Lahti/Finland, in the summer 2016! Earlier conferences were held in Lahti (1987, 1994 and 2005) and in Tampere (2010) for and with participants from Finland, many European countries and the USA. We will emphasize the significance of singing to the human development, and the ability to listen for, and giv

e expression to the inner music of the human being. The key speaker for summer 2016 is Dr. Peter Selg. Dr. Selg is children´s and youth psychiatrist, director of the Ita Wegman Institute, author, and professor at Alanus University. He will delve into the conference theme through discussing the relationship of poet Christian Morgenstern and Rudolf Steiner, but also through reviewing the future cultural epoch and the spiritual Russia. In his workshop, Dr Selg will discuss Christian Morgenstern´s relationship to the School of Spiritual Science. Additionally, he will give a class lesson in German for the members of the School of Spiritual Science. We have also the pleasure to see Christa Waltjen, a personal pupil of Valborg Werbeck-Svärdström, in Finland once again. Waltjen will be giving a lied-course for advanced participants. Other singing courses with Baldo Mikulic (Croatia), Gerda Euskirchen (Germany) and Janneke Moes (Holland/Finland) are open for beginners and advanced singers. Musician and pedagogue Pär Ahlbom, another personal pupil of the Swedish singer, will inspire the conference-goers with his course on intuitive pedagogy, including numerous exercises and games for developing musicality, perception and spiritual presence. Author and musicologist Michael Kurtz, who is also responsible for music in the Section for Performing Arts in Goetheanum, will give a lecture and a workshop about his current theme, Rudolf Steiner and music. Conference organizers, international singer and singing teacher Christian Boele and Dr. Maija Pietikäinen, will also contribute to the program. Christiaan´s theme is singing in the changes of time, and Maija´s lecture will witness the music of destiny between Valborg Werbeck-Svärdström and Rudolf and Marie Steiner, Ita Wegman and Eugen Kolisko. Johannes Greiner, who is responsible for music in the Section for the Performing Arts at Goetheanum, is organizing a deepening course with the theme "Guiding the Sound" on 4th until 5th of Januar 2025 in Dornach for all interested singers and singing friends. SING THE FUTURE
An international singing conference featuring Johannes Greiner and Christiaan Boele

In 1924, Rudolf Steiner told Valborg Werbeck-Svärdström that her new anthroposophical singing school would have to "remain hidden" for many years before flourishing for the good of mankind.

100 years later, it´s about time!

In an magnificent location in the Occitan countryside, SING THE FUTURE brings together true stars of song and anthroposophy. Johannes Greiner, from the music department of the Goetheanum, will give four lectures which evoke the vastness of existence as well as the salient details of our lives. Christiaan Boele, a pupil of Júrgen Schriefer and renowned singing teacher, will guide us with joy and clarity along this path of artistic and personal development. Alicia Burns and other experienced pedagogues will imbue us each day with their living knowledge.

Evening concerts, a choir, working groups and an open stage will round off this conference, from which participants will emerge nourished in body, mind and spirit.

THE INTERNATIONAL WERBECK ENSEMBLE IS GIVING A CONCERT ON AUGUST 8, IN DRENTE IN THE NETHERLANDS
This Summer the International Werbeck Ensemble is coming to Drente in the Netherlands and is giving a Concert on August 8 in the old Village Church in Wapserveen.
The repertoire includes works from Mendelsohn and Grieg and also lesser- known pieces by Mäntyjärvi and Casals.

You are cordially invited for this concert on August 8 ar 7:30 PM in the old Village Church in Wapserveen, Oosteinde 31.
The door is open from 7.00 PM.
Admission is free but a donation afterwards is greatly appreciated. After the concert there will be a possibility to hear more about the Werbeck Singing training.

Deze zomer is de Werbeck Ensemble in Nederland en is er voor de landelijke Drentsche setting gekozen. U bent van harte welkom en de toegang is vrij.

Het Werbeck Ensemble wordt gevormd door zangers uit vijf verschillende landen. Men repeteert jaarlijks een aantal malen met afsluitende concerten. Ze werken daarbij vanuit de antroposofische Schule der Stimmenthüllung. Deze stemscholing richt zich op een bijzondere en spiritueel georienteerde klankkwaliteit met schoonheid, helderheid en harmonie. Na de concerten is er altijd gelegenheid om meer over de zangscholing te horen.

SING THE FUTURE! Singing friends in France, especially Matthew Thurber, are organizing October 27-30, in Roquemaure/Chateau Boucarut the singing conference! Johannes Greiner from Goetheanum gives four lectures, Christiaan Boele (NL), Alicia Burns (USA), Rachel Stehli (USA) and Matthew Thurber (USA, FR) will give workshops in singing!
