On Tuesday I was really feeling myself and it shows.

I played around with my phone camera taking mirror selfies with the 1x and 2x zoom. To my understanding both modes use the same main camera apparatus (52MP 1/1.35" IMX 888) but the two modes produce very different types of images.

In the first 4 dual images of this post, the left half is with the 2x zoom and the right half with the 1x zoom. The last image is 2x zoom on both sides (I guess I liked it more).

The 2x zoom photos seem warmer and softer with less contrast and more color saturation. The 1x zoom photos have a colder light, stronger highlights and shadows and less color intensity.

The lights and colors of all images are unedited. The photos have been only cropped and resized to match each other.

The software running the hardware makes quite a difference! Although the main thing here is probably hidden in what was cropped: the 1x zoom photos balance my light and color profile against a much wider ambient lighting with bright ceiling lights and shadowy corners. The 2x zoom only captured my immediate surroundings.

A lot of would-be technical blabber to justify 10 selfies in a single post. But I'm not gonna lie - I absolutely love the way I look 💋

Wore my Darth Vader gauntlets to talk about the galactic gravity of value conflicts and how they can paralyze your professional path.

On the panel (“Choosing what type of professional you want to be” at Leaderboard 2.0), I got the familiar question: How do you stay authentic in professional environments? I had sort of a Will McAvoy moment and instinctively answered: “You don’t.”

What I meant: you don’t, if “authentic” means the always-on, unfiltered self-expression the internet rewards. In real work, credibility and trust are built through alignment, negotiation and committing to outcomes that won’t perfectly mirror your values at every step.

This isn’t about abandoning your ethics. It’s about sequencing: staying in motion, learning how power and money actually accumulate, building capacity (networks, experience, equity), and then using that agency to make integrity actionable.

My heart is filled with gratitude for the Expa Internships & Employment Day.

A wonderful line up of companies (literally - see the pics) taking their time to meet Jyväskylä based student talents face to face. A massive range of opportunities and career paths to meet different interests. And best of all - our students impressing the companies with their activity, passion, open-mindedness and their hunger to learn.

We ended with a panel that packed a ton of industry wisdom and reflected on the current hiring environment honestly. Huge thanks Jesse Lempiäinen, Luai Mahjneh, David Vanderheyden & Joni Lappalainen .
