Yesterday I was awarded as the Power Player of the year by the Finnish game industry.
This is the most esteemed lifetime achievement award presented by the industry.
In my 10 year career in the games industry I consider my main achievements to be
- Pioneering work in the space of health games as the co-founder & COO of . Being a front runner in a disrupting industry, building a new solution that builds health awareness and turns it into healthy actions and lifestyles. Convincing various industry partners, public health organisations, patient associations and goverments alike to renew their approach to health communication and providing the co-creation paths to make those visions happen.
- Building the Jyväskylä game industry scene from the ground and connecting it to the world through . The success we've had in the past 2 years is a testemony for persistence. After years of selling the vision of a vibrant industry community and the value drivers it brings, the work has been recognized by national and international industry partners as well as the local business and innovation networks. This finally allows us to build a sturdy bridge between these stakeholders - bringing companies and talent to Jyväskylä and exporting our locally educated excellence everywhere.
- Building a platform and finding my own voice as Wanda O Rly. Science communication, business development, creativity, flamboyant unapologetic self-expression, human connection, industry knowledge, team leadership, s*x education and self-awareness and more. A mix that once felt like a collection of totally disconnected remainders from different parts of my journey, somehow seamlessly materialized in an approachable presentation of myself. This I believe matters the most. Finding a way to feel whole in a sea of various stakeholder expectations and being able to connect authentically. Allowing me to make the most of every opportunity that presents itself and to bring my best also in the context of Psyon Games and Expa.
So thank you all, from the bottom of my heart, for seeing this peculiar journey as it is and appreciating it as such.
