EduCluster Finland had the pleasure of hosting a delegation from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Finnish National Agency for Education at the University of Jyväskylä campus.
The day began with a visit to the Teacher Training School, Jyväskylän Normaalikoulu. The delegation had the opportunity to learn more about the school, observe lessons in action, and hear a presentation from Principal Jerker Polso. The visit sparked engaging discussions around teacher education, school development and the Finnish education system.
The afternoon continued with presentations from the owner organisations behind EduCluster Finland.
A big thank you to Timo Taskinen and Pasi Ikonen from the University of Jyväskylä for sharing insights into the university’s important research and teacher education.
Thank you to Anna-Liisa Ojala and Yaneth Gunawardena from JAMK School of Professional Teacher Education for introducing the Professional Teacher Education programme, and to Pauliina Holm from Educational Consortium Gradia for bringing insights into Gradia’s education and training programmes. We also heard from Annina Kangas-Niemi from Living Lab, University of Applied Sciences Jamk, who introduced the centre’s unique expertise and approach.
And last but not least, thank you to the Finnish National Agency for Education for accompanying the delegation to Jyväskylä and making this valuable visit possible.
It was a great day of sharing expertise, exchanging ideas and showcasing the diverse strengths of Finnish education and teacher education.
