The award ceremony took place in Brussels on 9th of December, and it was opened by Pia Ahrenkilde Hansen, Director-General of DG Education, Youth, Sport and Culture (DG EAC), followed by a keynote speech from European Commission Executive Vice-President Roxana Mînzatu, who also presented this year’s awards.

As the year 2025 draws to a close, we would like to extend our warmest Christmas and New Year greetings to you and thank you for your continued cooperation with Riveria.

The past year has been an active and meaningful one for our international operations. Erasmus+ mobility has continued to play a central role in Riveria’s internationalisation, offering our students valuable international learning and work-based experiences and supporting the development of professional skills, language competence and intercultural understanding. International mobility has also contributed to the continuous development of our teaching practices and learning environments.

In 2025, Riveria has actively participated in Erasmus+ and Nordplus partnership projects and other forms of international cooperation. Through these projects, we have worked together to develop and exchange good practices, and address shared priorities such as sustainability, inclusion and innovative pedagogy.

International students have remained an important part of our learning community. Their presence has enriched everyday learning at Riveria, strengthened multicultural competence across the organisation and deepened cooperation between education and working life at both local and international levels.

All this requires dedication and long-term commitment, yet none of this would be possible without our partners. Your commitment, expertise and most importantly, your trust are essential in creating meaningful cooperation and lasting impact for learners, staff, and organisations alike. At the heart of this work are also the individuals behind the partnerships – teachers, coordinators, mentors and students – whose personal engagement, openness and everyday collaboration turn projects and mobilities into genuine learning experiences. We truly value our partnership, the connections we have built together, and the shared work we do to strengthen international vocational education.
We look forward to continuing our cooperation in 2026 and to developing new opportunities together.

I attended the seminar on Digitalisation in education in Jyväskylä organised by the Finnish National Agency. The programme of the day ended with the award ceremony for EITA adn eTwinning projects. Riveria Receives European Commission Innovation Award for International Collaboration

Riveria has been honored with the European Commission's Innovation Prize, recognizing its outstanding contributions to international vocational education. The award highlights Riveria’s forward-thinking initiatives and successful partnerships with institutions BBS-Goslar in Germany and Bernardustechnicum in Belgium, which have fostered innovative learning models and strengthened cross-border cooperation.

This recognition underscores Riveria’s commitment to developing globally relevant education and promoting excellence through international collaboration.

🌞This summer Finland is blessed with very warm and even hot temperatures around 25-30 degrees Celcius (surely some in Southern Europe are loughing), but considering the weather in June 3-10 degrees Celcius and raining all the time... now you appreciate the joy. However, many Finns are complaining 🥵, saying this is already too hot, and I don't blame them when it has been like this for the past five weeks.

📣August is already here and our summer holidays are over. On Monday Riveria opens its doors for the scholar year 2025-2026. We get to meet our colleagues, talk about all the amazing things we did on our holiday, and then we start counting the days to Chiristmas 😎🎄

🌍Erasmus+ mobility activities: The activities of our new mobility project Training Goes Global the 4th season of our Erasmus+ Accreditation already kicked-off in June, and we have had two students in Spain and Austria. You can visit our project websites on eTwinning-TwinSpace.
