ENO Green Cities Network

ENO Green Cities Network Environment Online - ENO is a global virtual school and network for sustainable development. Schools aim to plant 100 million trees by 2017.

It has been running since 2000 and covers over 7 000 schools in 141 countries. Tree planting has been overwhelmingly the most popular activity in the ENO Programme. As many ENO schools are located in world cities or in their outskirts we have launched ENO Green Cities Network. Cities are accepted to this network when they fill the following minimum criteria:

1) City is committed to offer areas, seedlings and assistance for tree planting (parks, forest areas) for schools every year, at least once in a year. There are two ENO Tree Planting Days annually that fall around 22nd of May and 21st of September.
2) City will take care that these areas will be safe and not constructed afterwards.
3) City will send a short report on tree planting area annually to ENO Programme. How cities are chosen: based by an online application here:

Membership fee: Free

How do cities benefit?

1) A certified statement of a membership in ENO Green City Network
2) An official city for ENO 100 Million Trees 2017 campaign
3) A permission to use a special ENO Partnership logo on their website
4) A link to other cities in the ENO Green City Network

This is awesome. We have a tool now for ENO and ENO Green Cities to rate our environment! Our Global “City Challenge” will start tomorrow. This competition will encourage people to rate their environment according to their three main senses: look, hear, breathe. And great prizes, you can win the latest Nokia 7 Plus mobile phones while doing good for the planet Earth.

To boost environmental awareness and action, Envirate started a partnership with Environment Online (ENO). Envirate was introduced to ENO first time last year when Envirate launched its award-winning mobile application at the international ENO’s Act Now conference on June 15th, 2017 in Joensuu.
