During the week, Karelia UAS' alumni activities were seen and heard in the social media and as happy conversations in the lobbies of the campuses. Students and staff were asked for their ideas on how to develop alumni activities, and here are a few tips to get you started:

✅Students: ask your teacher or tutor about the possibility of inviting an alumni to visit your class!

✅Teachers, tutors and heads of education: invite Karelia's alumni representatives to the meetings of the education programmes, and together we'll develop support measures to streamline alumni activities.

✅Alumni and soon-to-be graduates: register as an alumni either at graduation or via the registration form so that you won't miss your opportunity to participate:

Part-time entrepreneurship - what is it and how does it work? 🤔

Our guest is Heikki Immonen, Principal Lecturer of Entrepreneurship at Karelia UAS. He will talk about the benefits of part-time entrepreneurship and share his tips on how to get started!

Student Blast – the Academic Year Opening at Joensuu Market Square on Thursday 4 September 2025! 🔥

Student Blast’s headliner is a Finnish rapper Etta, who will set the stage on fire with attitude, energy, and an unforgettable vibe – you won’t want to miss this!
Alongside Etta, freestyle rap's Finnish champion Pure will hit the stage, and just like last year, you’ll have the chance to explore local organisations and their services at the market square.

The event is free and open to all students in Joensuu – whether you’re starting your freshers year or wrapping up your master’s degree, be sure to join us at the Market Square on Thursday 4 September at 2–5 pm!

Do you have an amazing business idea? Apply for the Draft Entrepreneurship Program and secure €1,000 in funding and expert support to establish your startup!

Assemble your team and apply for the Joensuu Draft Program no later than September 15, 2025.

You could be selected for the program's first phase, which includes €1,000 in funding and a four-month coaching period. In the follow-up phase of the program, you can receive €3000 in additional funding.

The Draft Program is designed for students, staff, and alumni of Karelia UAS, UEF, Riveria, Savonia UAS, and SAKKY.
