Let your light Shine before others
“No one lights a lamp and puts it under a basket, but rather on a lampstand, and it gives light for all who are in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.”Matthew 5:15-16...

“So you, too, must keep watch! For you don’t know what day your Lord is coming.”
Matthew 24:42
Our Lord Jesus spoke these words when his disciples asked him about the end of the world and his second coming. He started by warning them against false prophets, by telling them that there will come misleaders who pretend to be him. Then he mentioned that no one knows his second coming, but they can recognise it with some signs. He briefly mentioned the signs of destruction on the temple and his second coming.
Using the breaking of a thief into a house at an unexpected time as an example, he said, “Keep watch,” as the second coming will be like this. Also mentioning the time of Noah’s ark, when everyone was living their casual lives while Noah was building an ark and preaching about the coming flood, for they didn’t see any visible flood coming. So, we have to be awake, alert, and watch for the second coming of Christ. Especially as disciples of Jesus Christ, our daily lives are a ministry field where we show him to the lost and declare his second coming to the world. So, if we don’t leave it, how would we be able to show what we’re saying? This underlines the message of being watchful for us. But let’s wait for our savior and lord with excitement, as we do when a friend or family member comes after a long time, not out of fear or desperation for the world.
Later on this passage, our lord mentioned what would happen during his second coming, using an example of a master and his steward/servant. The master returns at an unexpected time, and if he finds him done a good job, the master will reward him, but if he finds him done a terrible job, the master will cut him into pieces. This implies that we will be paid for our work, not for our faith. Let’s pay attention to whatever our lord entrusted us, and take good care of it, so that we will be rewarded, not punished.
Finally, as disciples, let’s look forward as someone who is looking to see their loved one; let’s wait for our Lord Jesus, always being watchful and serving him well. We are all ministers as disciples, and our workspace is our ministry field, so let must serve him well, living a watchful life and showing christ to the world.

Parables are reflection of reality, not the mirrors of morality. Which means parables tells us how we are doing things, not how we should do things.

Discipleship DNA: Becoming and Multiplying True Followers of Jesus

“Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.”
Psalms 139:23 NLT
God knows everything about us. It would be wise to pray that God may search us and reveal what may lead us away from Him.
