Got an idea that could reshape learning? 💡

🎯 The HEH EdTech Incubator is open for applications — the autumn cohort kicks off in mid-September. We're looking for early-stage founders, university teams, teachers, researchers and students. To be eligible for the program, you must have a working prototype or early-stage solution—not just an idea. We'll help you test it in real classrooms and refine it further.

🚀 What you get in 12 weeks:
✶ Mentors from educational sciences and business
✶ A guided program for understanding and developing a Theory of Change (EdTech impact)
✶ Lean LaunchPad product development program that guides you towards a Mimimum Viable Product (MVP)
✶ Real-world testing (Helsinki EdTech Testbed): Pilots in schools and our innovation networks
✶ Storytelling & pitching: learn how to present your idea, connect with investors, and measure impact
✶ A founder community that gets the EdTech grind

📌 Apply by Fri 7 August
📆 Program: mid-September → mid-November

⚡ Meet the HEH startups! ⚡

We’re beyond excited to introduce HEH’s teams and the impactful learning solutions they’re building.

Next up: MYLO Speech Buddy

💡 What does your startup do?

Mylo Speech Buddy is a speech development app for children with speech delays. Founder Vince Rocha built it after waiting two years to find a clinician for his son. Mylo is a streaming app with a structured curriculum that guides children through easy, repetitive activities at home — from basic words like "mama" and "papa" to phrases and full sentences. The goal is to help at least a million kids globally.

💡 What problems does it solve?

Globally, families face long waiting times to access speech clinicians. Mylo bridges that gap by giving parents and teachers simple, consistent activities to do with their children at home, so kids can already start developing their speech while waiting for professional help.

🚀 What happens when researchers meet AI coding tools?

✨ Magic.

Yesterday, we watched ideas transform into working prototypes in just 3 hours. No coding skills required.

💙 A researcher built a science popularization blog in 20 minutes. An entrepreneur created her company website. Another researcher launched an automated newsletter sharing the latest Finnish learning news — all without touching a single line of code.

Zero investment. Hours saved. Minutes to build. Real solutions that work.

🙏 Huge thanks to everyone who joined yesterday! Special thanks to Geetali Dewan (Try 2) and our sponsor Lovable for collaborating on this event.

⚡ Meet the HEH startups! ⚡

We’re beyond excited to introduce HEH’s teams and the impactful learning solutions they’re building.

Next up: Nasu EDU

💡 What does your startup do?

Nasu Edu builds Nasu AI — a safe, school-controlled AI tutor and AI literacy platform for primary schools.

💡 What problems does it solve?

AI is already becoming part of children’s learning, but many students use it without guidance, safeguards, or a clear understanding of how it works. Nasu helps schools bring AI into learning safely, pedagogically, and fairly — while supporting teachers with different learning needs in the classroom.

Finnish Learning Awards lunasti odotukset ja antoi oppimiselle näyttämön ✨

💙 Vaikka tapahtumasta on vasta muutamia päiviä, illan tunnelma on edelleen vahvasti mielessä.

We’re beyond excited to introduce HEH’s teams and the impactful learning solutions they’re building.

Next up: better-ed AI

💡 What does your startup do?

better-ed is a conversational AI assessment platform that gives teachers real visibility into how students think — not just the answers they submit.

💡 What problems does it solve?

As generative AI makes it easier than ever for students to produce polished answers without genuine understanding, schools are left with a critical blind spot: they can't tell who actually learned something. Better-ed closes that gap by running oral-style assessment conversations at scale — the AI asks the follow-up questions, probes the reasoning, and surfaces what a student truly knows. It's built for the reality of today's classrooms, where the question isn't whether students use AI, but whether schools can still see through it.
