History & Cultural Heritage

Day out on ! The legendary sea fortress of Suomenlinna is a UNESCO Cultural Heritage south of Helsinki. For centuries it had laid in the hands of Sweden and Russia, and was strategically built to keep enemies at bay in the Baltic Sea.

Today the islands are home to a lively community and many of the ex-military facilities are serving civil purposes. We were excited to receive a guided tour by a history researcher from University of Helsinki to learn about the landscape, history and many intriguing stories of this unique place.

Governmental talks

While it takes a vibrant civil society to incubate and kickstart innovative initiatives in education, governmental support is essential in driving policies and how implementation can be achieved at all levels.
Our delegation had the privilege to attend , the largest conference on education in Finland, where top government officials and international experts also meet to deliberate crisis and development for education for the next generation.
