🌿 CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: FOR248 – Tropical Forests and Agroforests 🌿
Are you interested in tropical forests, agroforestry, sustainable livelihoods, and rural development?
The Viikki Tropical Resources Institute (VITRI), University of Helsinki, in cooperation with Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry (TUAF), Vietnam, is pleased to announce an intensive international field course in northern Vietnam
📍 Location: Định Hóa District, Thái Nguyên Province, Vietnam
📅 Dates: 5–20 January 2027
🎓 Credits: 5 ECTS

🎓 WHO CAN APPLY?
Advanced Bachelor’s, Master’s, and early-stage PhD students at the University of Helsinki studying forestry, tropical forestry, agroforestry, environmental sciences, circular economy, development studies, or related fields.
💶 FINANCIAL SUPPORT
Selected participants will receive a €500 grant to support accommodation, transportation, and sponsored meals during the course.
Please note that participants are responsible for their own international travel, visa fees, and insurance.
🎓 MASTER'S THESIS OPPORTUNITY
Two exceptional students may have the opportunity to undertake Master's thesis fieldwork in Vietnam after the course through the Team Finland Knowledge (TFK)-funded FIVI-CES project, with support for travel expenses, living costs, and fieldwork logistics.
