The natural Thai time aspect in Thai is normally understood from the five (5) verb Groups and lɛ́ɛu แล้ว. The book I (Secret 1 - 11), which has many more examples, grammar points and explanations, will be ready later this year.

The first thing to understand about lɛ́ɛu แล้ว is that, as a time indicator that, it is commonly used with the temporary conditions or actions. However, it can be used in the sentences, which refer to the present, past or future time.

Examples:

Group 1 – Present time with adjectives
1.1 phɔɔ-lɛ́ɛu พอ แล้ว
1.2 ìm-lɛ́ɛu อิ่ม แล้ว
1.3 thùuk-lɛ́ɛu ถูก แล้ว
1.4 moo-hŏo-lɛ́ɛu โมโห แล้ว
1.5 too-lɛ́ɛu โต แล้ว

Group 2 – Present time with state verbs
2.1 khâu-tsai-lɛ́ɛu เข้า ใจ แล้ว
2.2 rúu-lɛ́ɛu รู้ แล้ว
2.3 wái-tsai-lɛ́ɛu ไว้ ใจ แล้ว
2.4 tsam-dâai-lɛ́ɛu จำ ได้ แล้ว
2.5 mii-lɛ́ɛu มี แล้ว

Group 3 – Ongoing actions with specific action verbs
3.1 rɔ́ɔng-lɛ́ɛu ร้อง แล้ว
3.2 yím-lɛ́ɛu ยิ้ม แล้ว
3.3 nɔɔn-lɛ́ɛu นอน แล้ว
3.4 tham-ngaan-lɛ́ɛu ทำ งาน แล้ว
