Finally at Mount Clear College in Ballarat. Had an Australian lunch, went on a tour of the school, made scones, tasted Finnish salmon soup, rye bread and salty licorice and sat in a couple of classes. Saw live music in the evening. Tomorrow is a new day!

Part 2: Marsupials and monotremes at Taronga. Did you know that koalas, kangaroos and wallabies are mammals called marsupials? A koala is pregnant only for a month and then gives birth to a jellybean-sized baby embryo that crawls into its mother’s pouch and develops another six months feeding on milk. There are also mammals called monotremes that lay eggs: the platypus and the echidna (in the video). We humans, like most mammals, are placentals. Last but not least, a photo of Wollemi pines grown from the seeds of the pines discovered in a secret location not far from Sydney. That concludes the lesson for today 😉
