LTI Daycare

This week's theme is sea creatures. The children named different animals that live in the sea.

For today's activity, we focused on an octopus. The children counted the octopus legs and explored different colors. Each leg had a color label,and the children chose the matching color and placed it on the correct labeled leg. Every child had the opportunity to participate by choosing and matching a color independently.

Through this activity , the children developed several early childhood learning skills, including;
*color recognition and matching
*counting and early numeracy skills
*hand-eye coordination and fine motor development
*listening and following instructions
*turn-taking and participation in group activities
*language development through naming colors and sea animals
*confidence and independence in making choices
The activity also encouraged curiosity,engagement, and cooperative learning in a fun and interactive way.

Today’s activity for children aged 2–5 involved spinning a color wheel. Each child spun the wheel and painted the color where the arrow landed, while others explored mixing colors.

Learning and Benefits:
Children developed color recognition, creativity, and early problem-solving skills through color mixing. They also practiced fine motor skills, including proper pencil/brush grip and hand control. The activity supported turn-taking, patience, and social interaction, while encouraging confidence and self-expression.

We from LTI Daycare have a tradition of visiting a church every Easter week.
We always inform the children in advance about the visit and explain what they should do when they enter the church — most importantly, to listen. From the daycare to the church, the children were excited and followed the adults’ instructions. They walked silently and lined up properly on the way to the church.
The children were aware of what they needed to do once inside. First, they took off their field trip straps, and second, they removed their outdoor jackets, which they did very well. When everyone was ready, we followed two church staff members who introduced Jesus and the apostles. They asked a few questions, and surprisingly, some of the tots answered correctly 👏.
After the tour, the children had some time to play in the play area, which they greatly enjoyed.
