What does it feel like being part of the Finnish Games industry for 9 years.

Yesterday at the Finnish Games Gaala Award I realised that I’ve been part of the industry for almost 9 years.

Here are the 3 things I love about the industry

🎮 Creativity. It is The most creative industry in the world. From storytelling and game design to art and gamplay mechanics there’s endless room for innovation.

🤝 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆. Since it is a passion driven industry it’s easy to get alone with the like minded people and just be inspired by their spirit.

💼 𝗘𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗼𝗺. The whole industry is all about out-of-the-box-thinking and it’s a rollercoaster 100%.

And do you want to know how does it feel like being a founder in the industry?

For me it’s is like jumping into a multiplayer game with no respawns and endless levels 😂

Big News from Games Job Fair Spring '24: Adapting to Change and Thriving Together

In challenging times, it's crucial to adapt and rethink your approach. The games industry has faced a lot of challenges in 2023 and 2024. Amidst this backdrop, our first-ever Games Job Fair Lite edition, streamed on LinkedIn Live and Youtube, marked a significant milestone in our journey and transformation!

Here are some stats from the event:
• 6 studios participated, representing diverse opportunities.
• Over 1700 game developers and tech talents tuned in from around the globe, eager to explore new career avenues and connect with industry leaders.
• About 50 talents joined Unity and Sloyd challenges and demonstrated their skills in programming and art/rendering.
• 150 enthusiastic job seekers joined us in Helsinki, forging valuable connections and getting their Resumes and Portfolios reviewed by professionals.

These numbers not only reflect the impact of our event but also highlight the collective spirit of innovation and collaboration that defines our industry. By coming together, we've demonstrated our ability to thrive even in the face of uncertainty and change.
