FinlandWay Key concep: Positive Pedagogy 🌸
At FinlandWay, positive pedagogy means recognising what each child can do, building on their strengths, and nurturing their wellbeing alongside their learning. When children are met with warmth and care, they develop a positive image of themselves as learners, feel safe and respected and dare to try, explore, and become the best version of themselves.

🎨🧑🎨When exploring painting, educators should not limit the experience to using only a paintbrush. Young children are still developing their pencil grip and often paint using large, whole-arm movements while exploring paint with all their senses.
Painting exploration is best introduced through whole-body experiences and tools that are easy for small hands to hold. As children gain experience with paint in this playful and sensory way, they can gradually move on to practising how to hold a paintbrush and create more controlled and detailed marks.
Let’s take a look at the many different ways children in our Kuwait nursery are enjoying painting! ➡️

Parent feedback is how we keep our standards where they need to be. When families notice that their child is respected, safe, and learning through play, we know the approach is working.

This week was Earth Day.🌍
At FinlandWay, children learn to respect the natural world through hands-on experience. They sort waste, plant seedlings, examine seeds and soil, and care for living things. Over time, these experiences build a genuine sense of responsibility for the world around them💚

Outside in every weather! ☀️🌧️❄️
In Finnish preschools, children spend a significant part of every day outside. In all weather, throughout the year. Not as a break between lessons, but as an active part of the curriculum.
Regular time in natural environments lowers stress, builds physical coordination, and improves concentrations skills. Finland’s National Core Curriculum is built around this. The outdoor environment is treated as a genuine learning space.
FinlandWay® brings this approach to schools worldwide, with a complete curriculum, training, and support from day one. Read more from our recent blogspost, link in bio! 🔗

Safety education is an important theme in early childhood education. ⛑️🧯
In FinlandWay, we see safety skills as important life skills. We believe in the power of Imaginative play and stories as tools to explore safety education themes in a way which children can understand. Through a playful storytelling session children can learn for example about fire, or traffic rules in a safe way in their classroom.
In the photo, children in Garodia FinlandWay were imagining they are stranded on a deserted island and built a “fire” in the classroom as part of their exploration of natural elements.

🏫 Why change the classroom?
Our understanding of “school” is changing. Traditional classrooms with rows of desks and teacher-led instruction offered structure and clarity for decades.
Modern environments use flexible furniture, natural light and thoughtfully designed learning zones — inviting children to make choices, experiment and build confidence through doing. Teachers observe, guide and help extend curious minds.
