❗ 🔍 HEPI-Household Energy Price Index: JULY prices just released! 📢

⬆ Retail in July saw a slight 2% increase, ending the downward trend observed since November 2022. While most countries experienced stability or decreases, a few capital cities faced significant price surges due to the phasing out of support or price corrections after recent price drops.

📌 Copenhagen witnessed the most significant increase (55%) due to the raise of the Electricity tax.

⬇ end-user prices continued their decline for the second consecutive month across Europe, with most markets showing stability or reductions. The general decrease is attributed mainly to ample gas supply and reduced summer demand.

📌 In Bern, a significant 25% price drop was recorded, leading to the highest end-user price level since 2018, which can be attributed to the updated price list announced by the local supplier.

Household Energy Prices Index for Europe - MARCH prices released!

💡 Retail electricity prices followed a slight downward trend, with Helsinki being the only capital recording a 14% price increase.
🔷 The reduced demand, mainly due to the favourable weather conditions, led to the rapid fall of electricity prices on the wholesale market, especially in the international markets, such as Nord Pool and TTF.

❗ This month we are also examining, for a selection of markets (EUR15), the average end-user prices for fixed VS variable contracts, taking into account the fact that since the crisis customers tend to choose the latter more often due to their lower prices.

📊 In the natural gas markets, the prices continued to drop, while many European capitals saw a decrease to the levels of prior to the war in Ukraine.
🔸 Vienna’s households saw a 9% increase in their bills, however in the rest of Europe residential prices remained in the same levels.
