VASA nytt i stadsbiblioteket: Törstig? Nu finns det en kaffeautomat i Proosa-utrymmet på 1 våningen. Du kan köpa kaffe, kakao och varmt vatten.

VAASA library update: Thirsty? There is now a coffee machine in the Proosa room on the ground floor (main library). Coffee, hot chocolate and hot water is available for purchase

VAASA update. You can now search for printed material in Vaasa through Hanna search portal by choosing the middle tab “Vaasa City Library”. You can also register your Vaasa city library card to see your loans and renew them via Hanna. Everything in one place!

VAASA: Due to staff training day, Vaasa City Library is closed on Friday 29 November.

Have you noticed the debates on the journal Sustainability published by MPDI, a suspicious predatory publisher?

You can read the article (in Finnish): https://julkaisufoorumi.fi/fi/ajankohtaista/mdpi-predatory-reports-ja-julkaisutoiminnan-harmaa-alue. The JUFO level of Substantiality has been downgraded from 1 to 0 since 2023.

Oviedo-García’s article (https://doi.org/10.1093/reseval/rvab020) lists Substantiality’s problems with high rate of self-citations, number of articles published (7 414 in 2019), number of special issues (788 in 2020), and very short peer-review periods, etc.

Sustainability is still indexed in Scopus (with SNIP 1.198) and there are high-quality articles published in this journal. Yet it would be recommended to refrain from submitting your manuscript to this journal.
