Last month ROBBO hosted an engaging workshop for STEM educators at Thomas More Hogeschool, showcasing its innovative educational solutions.

During the workshop, participants explored the ROBBO curriculum and had the opportunity to engage with various hands-on activities designed to enhance their teaching methods. Attendees were particularly impressed by ROBBO's durable, kid-proof, and vandal-proof educational equipment, which supports a comprehensive understanding of technology among students.

In a significant development, ROBBO Finland Oy and Thomas More Hogeschool signed a memorandum of understanding focused on strategic collaboration. This partnership includes coordinating and implementing the Q-Fab supply for the university, as well as establishing a dedicated course for teachers at Thomas More Hogeschool.

This collaboration marks a pivotal step in enhancing STEM education and fostering a deeper understanding of technology for future generations in the Netherlands.

ROBBO Awards International Scratch Olympiad Participants in Thailand

Bangkok, Thailand – ROBBO participated in the awarding ceremony for Thai participants of the International Scratch Olympiad on January 8, 2025. The event was graced by the presence of Thailand's Minister of Education, H.E. Pol. Gen. Permpoon Chidchob, and Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra. This year, Thailand celebrated five winners, a remarkable increase from just one winner as of the last year.

During the event, the Prime Minister personally congratulated the winners and highly estimated the ROBBO equipment, presented by the ROBBO educational methodologist.

The ceremony was held at the Government House, where discussions also focused on the importance of engineering education and fostering connections between children and engineering professions. ROBBO, the organizer of the International Scratch Olympiad, proposed collaboration in this vital area. As a model for such collaboration, ROBBO highlighted the establishment of ROBBO Classes, in partnership with Focus Academy. These engineering centers based in schools, colleges, and universities shall enable more children to pursue lucrative careers in technology and achieve higher results in competitions.

As a result of this fruitful gathering, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Government of Thailand and ROBBO, outlining plans for future collaboration aimed at enhancing engineering education and opportunities for Thai youth.

Educational Equipment: ROBBO Robot Kit

ROBBO Robot Kit is a robotics kit designed to teach both children and adults programming and robotics using microcontrollers and data from various sensors.

On one hand, it is a simple kit that allows to build a robot from ready-made modules in just a few minutes and write the first program in another 10 minutes. On the other hand, enthusiasts can create new modules for the robot and write more complex programs using ‘adult’ programming languages, as the project is open and free—blueprints, programs, and source codes are available for download at any time.

Depending on the tasks being solved, the ROBBO Robot Kit can be easily equipped with various sensors (up to 5 at the same time). It allows teaching children not only algorithms and programming but also basics of electronics, physics, etc.

The basic programming environment used is the popular RobboScratch platform. This is a user-friendly programming environment specifically designed for teaching children. Programs in Scratch consist of graphical blocks with text labels.
