Philips Engineering Solutions’ MEMS Foundry recently adopted the Beneq Transform® ALD tool for its high-tech campus in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. The ALD tool passed the foundry’s thorough tests, which utilized electrical characterization on capacitors. The Philips team also commended Beneq’s care and attention to detail in the delivery.
“Beneq’s batch ALD tool met the dielectric requirements for our different capacitive MEMS ultrasound transducer (CMUT) applications, while providing high throughput for production purposes. Its ability to deposit different materials using ALD also makes it useful for different MEMS applications,” explains Rob van Schaijk, Principal Architect, Thin Film, at Philips MEMS Foundry.
The partnership between Beneq and the Philips MEMS Foundry is likely to continue.
