Startup law isn’t the most glamorous topic - until you wish you’d known it sooner👀

On April 28th, we’re opening the doors to one of our Meet The Founders events, and you don’t need to be part of the mentoring program to join✨

Together with our long-time partner we’re spending the evening with Johanna Rantanen, Founding Partner and Head of Tech & IP, unpacking the legal essentials every fresh startup founder should know. Think key frameworks, common pitfalls, and the stuff nobody tells you until it’s too late⚖️

Expect delicious food & drinks, great conversations, networking, and a peek into what the mentoring program is really like🤭

The day is finally here🎧💜

wednesday.’s rebranded podcast, Founder Frequency, is officially live!

And we’re not starting small: we’re dropping three episodes right away😎

Founder Frequency brings forward conversations with founders, operators, and builders across the ecosystem, going beyond polished stories and into the real side of building🙌

We’re kicking things off with:

✨Helmi Peipinen & Blanka Bartfai, Co-leads, wednesday.
Finding your place in the ecosystem without a clear roadmap, stepping into leadership, and trusting your intuition along the way.

✨Riikka Loisamo, CEO, The Shortcut
Building across countries and cultures, opening doors for others, and turning a non-linear path into something meaningful.

✨Eeva Siika-Aho, CEO, Helsinki Think Company
What it actually means to become a founder. And why you don’t need to feel like one to start acting like one.

If you’ve ever felt unsure where to start, like you don’t quite fit the mold, or like everyone else has it more figured out, this podcast is for you🫶

All three episodes are now available to listen on Spotify, Apple Podcast and PodBean. Link in our bio.

Go listen and let us know what you think🧡

What do you really need to start as a founder?💭

We hear it all the time: “I would love to build something, I just don’t have an idea.”

Join us for a workshop session where we flip that thinking. No pressure to come in with a big idea, but a practical way to go from an idea to something you can test💡

With Wave Ventures, we’ll walk you through how to:
🔸Spot real problems in everyday situations
🔸Figure out who cares about them
🔸Turn rough thoughts into something concrete

Event details:
📅Tuesday 21.4.
⏰16.00-18.00
📍Founders House Helsinki

If you are startup-curious or just tired of waiting for “the right idea,” this is a space to try, test, and see what happens✨

Register via the link in our bio. Hope to see you there!💜

We’ve been keeping a little secret and now we can finally share it🙊

The Database podcast is evolving and stepping into its next chapter as Founder Frequency🎙️

This rebrand is more than just a new name. It’s about creating a space that feels more honest, more human, and more reflective of what building actually looks like. The non-linear paths, the moments of doubt, and the courage it takes to keep going anyway.

Hosted by the brilliant Caitie Santo, Founder Frequency brings forward conversations with founders, operators, and builders across the ecosystem, going beyond polished stories and into the real side of building. The kind of conversations that remind you there’s no one right way to do this, and that you don’t have to have it all figured out to start✨

This podcast is a space for everyone curious about building something, already in it, or finding their way into the ecosystem💜

First episodes drop next Wednesday, we can’t wait for you to tune in🎧

Turns out VC cases are a lot less intimidating when you actually try one👀

This week we hosted our first ever VC Case Cracking evening together with .official, and got a real look into how VC decisions actually get made💡

We kicked things off with a panel with Veera Pietikäinen (Cloudberry VC), Meri Heikkinen (Unmanned.vc) and Tiina Erho (Scale Capital) sharing how they got into VC and what they look for when evaluating early-stage startups.

A few things that stuck with us:
📝There’s no one ”right” path into VC, you shouldn’t try to fit to a certain role but rather follow your interests
📝Write, read, stay curious and talk to people, that’s how you learn and get noticed
📝When evaluating startups, understanding the founder and the problem matters most

Then it was time to get cracking ourselves. In teams, participants worked through a real case, built their investment thesis, and decided: invest or pass. The room filled with discussion, different perspectives and a lot of new learnings.

Huge thank you to everyone who joined and brought such good energy into the room💜Big thanks also to for keeping our participants energized⚡️

We loved this format, and now we’re curious: should we do more of these?🤭

We’re still recovering (in the best way) from our 3rd birthday party last Saturday🪩✨

We spent the evening coming together, meeting new people, reconnecting with wednesday. alumni, and looking back at how far our community has come💜

We heard from wednesday.’s co-founder Eli about the beginning, got a look into three years of impact from our co-leads Helmi & Blanka, and ended on an inspiring keynote from Aino Hukkanen (Complink) on moving away from the ”shoulds” and building a life that actually feels fulfilling, every day🙏

The night also got a little competitive with our mingling bingo. Finding someone building something, someone looking for a co-founder, or someone who came alone and made a new connection..🤭Winners went home with gift cards from & 🎉

And we have to talk about the outfits. The room was full of people in their ”nowhere to wear” looks and absolutely owning it🔥

We also got to enjoy amazing treats all evening: a big thank you to .cafe for the unbelievable cake, for the smoothies, and for the energy drinks and protein bars🫶

And most importantly, thank you to everyone who showed up and celebrated with us. It means the world to us to see this community come together like that. We can’t wait to see what the next years of wednesday. will look like💜

Let’s be honest, VC cases can feel a bit intimidating. But they really don’t have to.

So that’s why, together with .official, we’re hosting a VC Case Cracking evening. During the event we’ll break down how Venture Capital decisions actually get made, and show that you don’t have to feel intimidated💛

First we’ll hear a panel from Veera Pietikäinen (Cloudberry VC), Meri Heikkinen (Unmanned VC) and Tiina Erho (Scale Capital) on how they got into VC and what they actually look for when evaluating early-stage startups💡

Then it’s your turn. You’ll work through a real seed/series A case in teams, build your investment case, decide whether you’d invest or pass, and get feedback directly from the VCs in the room👩‍💻

Not something you get to experience every day..🫢

Event details:
📅Monday 30.3.
⏰17:30
📍Startup Sauna

Spots are limited, so grab yours via the link in bio. The event is catered for women and non-binary individuals.

As our birthday party gets closer, we wanted to celebrate the people who actually made these past three years what they are: our community💜

So we created the wednesday. yearbook, a space where you can add your photo, share event memories, and discover the people who make wednesday. what it is✨

Claim your spot in the wednesday. yearbook via the link in our bio📙

And one more important detail for our birthday party coming up: the dress code🤭

The theme is ”nowhere to wear”. That outfit you absolutely love but somehow never have the right occasion for. Now is the time🪩

At wednesday., Women’s Day happens every day.

For us, supporting women and non-binary people in entrepreneurship isn’t a once-a-year moment. It’s simply what we do. Through our community, mentoring programs and events, we work to make entrepreneurship feel more accessible, more welcoming and more possible💜

Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of bringing incredible women onto our stages to share their journeys, lessons and honest experiences on entrepreneurship. At the same time, we’ve been inspired by so many others who are doing important work across the ecosystem. Today feels like a good moment to celebrate them💌

In the next picture we’ll be mentioning some of the women who have inspired our community, shared their stories, and are doing important work to move the ecosystem forward. Just a few of many there, tag someone in the comments that should be mentioned too🫶

The momentum behind female entrepreneurship is also clearly visible in the newly released Female Innovation Index 2026, which shows encouraging progress across Europe. We’ve highlighted a few of the key insights from the report in this carousel🌟

There is still work to do, but the direction is promising. Female entrepreneurship in Europe is growing and creating real impact. We’re proud to be building a community that contributes to an ecosystem where women and non-binary people have the opportunity to build, grow, and truly thrive. Every day of the week.

No gatekeeping at wednesday. Just women helping women build 💜

This week we kicked off our mentoring program Meet The Founders, and the evening was full of lively conversations, curiosity and genuine encounters. Early-stage founders and mentors came together to share experiences, ideas and honest thoughts about building something of their own.

This spring, 12 mentoring pairs started the program, some of them together with their co-founders. Over the next few months, until the end of May, they’ll be meeting their mentors for 1-on-1 sessions and joining workshops designed to help them move their startups forward🚀

One of the most special moments of the evening was seeing the mentoring pairs start getting to know each other so naturally. Everyone clicked right away, and you could really feel the excitement and curiosity about the journey ahead🫶

We also had the pleasure of hearing a keynote from Jenni Romppainen, founder of .io and a participant in last year’s program, who shared key takeaways and tips on how to get the most out of the program 💡

Thank you to everyone who joined the kickoff and brought such thoughtful energy into the room. We can’t wait to see how these founders grow and what they build during the program ✨
